How is the Z's resale value?

Not really that good. you may be able to land a great deal on one, just find it in the configuration that suits you best.

Cool....I have been looking at used Enthusiast's. When I buy a new car in a few months, I figure I should find one for around 22k.

So far it looks the Z is holding its value pretty good. I mean its not great or anything... Its what i expected

what kbb states and what you will get in real-life are two different stories. I've seen Enthusiasts go for 24999 used sticker at one used car lot. And that price will definitely be negotiable.

KBB, from my experience, overvalues the true resale value cars. I wouldnt buy a used Z for 25k, when I can get a new one under VPP for around 1,500 more. I want a used one, and use the difference for a ATI procharger or some nice suspension mods.

It seams that Dealerships are giving about 22-24K for the 03 Z's on trade and then selling them for 26-28k.Your much better off to get one from a private seller.

I got 22k on my trade. But i had 21800 miles on it when they took it in. I think I did well.

They offer VPP now. I talked to my salesmen and he said I was eligable, just had to call and get a number.

I've been thinking about getting rid of my A4 and picking up a Z. I'll miss the quattro and luxury of the A4, but the lower monthly payments and power increase should help me get over that. From my research so far, it appears that purchasing from a private owner will net you the best price. I monitor the classifieds here everyday and when compared to dealer pricing for similar models, folks here are asking on average $2-3k less than dealers. Of course, I have not yet gone in and haggled with a dealer over price, but at least one told me they wouldn't budge from their asking price.

I'll probably hang on to my A4 until Spring and then see about finding a late build 2003 Enthusiast or Performance. I'm not in a big rush to get rid of my A4, so in that sense I'm in a better position to hold out until the right model/price presents itself.

The track model resale value seems to be holding very well. I am thinking about selling my 350Z so I can get a nice down payment on a new house and I checked the trade in/retail price of my '03 Track model - trade in was $28k, private party was $30k and retail was $32k.

What are the specifcs on your A4 miles, options, etc.? How much do you think you'll get out of it? Where do you live?

Dont bank on it. My "trade in value" was $30,000 for my fully load, every option available 350Z Touring... I got prices from 6 car dealers including chevy, nissan, carmax and infiniti. Four in my county, 2 in orange county... Every single one offered me between $24,000 and $26,000 for a perfect condition 6500 mile car. Granted it is my fault for selling quickly, but $10,000 in 9 months is harsh. Dealers who tell you they will give you more will only do so by negotiating less on the car your buying. They give you less one way or another.
If I had it to do over again I would go with the G35 coupe, but at any rate the 350z is still a fun car to own.... just not fun to trade in. if you have the stomach I guess selling privately is best, but who wants to deal with tire kickers?

My point was that the Z is only available on the A,B,and C plan. Therefore not everyone is eligible (ie. D plan members).

FYI: It's been available (A,B,C) since last February.

I don't think VPP has an effect on used car prices.

got my black track with 7300 miles for ~31k after tt&l. just wait for deals to pop up. they're out there, but you just gotta wait for what you want.

kbb is putting them around 29800 (but it's hard to get close to the real trim b/c you have to add the options) for example, they don't let you choose the track package, and there isn't an option for upgraded brake systems.

nada is a good source too.
