**HELP!** purchased from private seller and cant do paperwork!
I found a private seller who has a Z with 50 miles on it. It has been driven from the dealer to the storage garage.
Its SOLD in his name. My financial lender will NOT let me pay off his loan and i have no idea how to buy this car.
They say they need a physical title in order to finance me. This is jacked up cause there IS NO title yet.
It takes a LONGGG time for a title to evolve. I know people buy Z's on ebay from private sellers. How the hell do you do that?
Nissan financial says it cant be done, My bank (peoplefirst) says it cant be done.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course it can be done. You have his bank contact your bank. It sounds like your bank does not want to do the work. His bank has the title and they can FAX them a copy under stipulation.

This is the common conundrum of buying from a private seller. His bank wont release the title till you pay for it. Your bank wont give the money without a title.

hmmm mi350z...thats a fabulous point!
What I did once was go to the sellers bank, pay off the balance and have the bank notarize this DMV form http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg227.pdf (oops forgot to check if youre in CA). Anyway, the bank notarized saying that lein was satisfied and they release the interest in the vehicle. The bank did not have the title, and were gonna make me wait 6 weeks. The DMV clarified that if this form is filled and notarized then they invalidate the original title and issue a new one to the new owner desiginated on the notarized form.
There is actually a box to check for a "paperless title" which I think is your case. Check your local motor vehicles dept. for more information
