Which MY is it?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what model year a specific Z is.

The dealer(non-nissan affliated) lists the car as a 2008 model, but the VIN says it's an '07.

VIN: JN1BZ34D27M500017

Does this mean it was built in '07, but listed as an '08? Or does the dealer just have it wrong?

EDIT: Car was manufactured in 07 but was sold as an 08 model more than likely.

If the dealer doesn't know what year it is it is unlikely they know what model it is. You might be able to score a better model for a lower price...look for a home link mirror as a giveaway.

;)

so... if it was built in '07 but sold as an '08... what exactly does that make it?

Is it an '07 or an '08? :dunno:

On the ad it is an '08 Touring model, but unfortunately there were no pictures of the rear view mirror... just the interior (gray leather if that helps). Does the home link mirror indicate MY or just the trim?

The code in the VIN indicates the Model Year. If you want to know when it was built, look on the metal label in the door jamb, that has month and year which may be different than the MY.

The VIN says 2007. That is self-explanatory to me.

ROFL!

its a 2007 the dealer has it listed wrong. whatever the 10th digit is in the vin is the yr model. and the 2010 is a "A" and 2011 is a "B" and etc.

Will the dealer show you the title? That should put the issue to rest.

Title or not, the VIN defines the car. Titles can have mistakes but it's rare.
