No thanks. I have test driven a Volt (and was actually pleasantly surprised compared to what I expected) but it's too expensive, the current model year doesn't qualify for CA HOV stickers due to emissions (is ULEV IIRC instead of SULEV/AT-PZEV), its charge sustain mode mileage is disappointing and is somewhat pricey to operate (http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtest...my-update.html). I also wouldn't want to buy a first model year GM vehicle.

Leafs can get the white HOV stickers (http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/carpool/carpool.htm).

FWIW, from http://www.insideline.com/chevrolet/...ns_317112.html, it has only 40% US/Canadian part content.

I however do see the value proposition for some since pure EVs have limited range and even a level 3 charger (there are almost none in the US right now) takes 30 mins to bring a dead Leaf to 80% charge.

Hm, I'd like to see the build sheet on a volt. I'm sure GM outsorces many parts from it's mexico plants.

You can get america out of debt by getting a time machine, going back to 2000 and preventing GWBush from ever getting into office. He drove us into debt like the country has never seen in its history. Obama isn't helping things that much, but the damage is already done.

Raising taxes on corporate america and on the wealthy will fix the problem more than buying any Chevy Volt. Tax is income for the government, without it you have no spending, as you have seen for the last 10 years...

I've had my car for almost 4 years and every now and then, i'd grow tired of it. Mind you, i do ALL of the maintenance, and when i grew tired of the car, i'd change my oil at 5k instead of 3k... Etc...

But just now, i grew in love with it all over again, but that was after i washed and waxed the car. Damn it looks sexy!... And bought more mods for it lol..

I think it's a phase that ppl go thru with ther cars... Continuous love & hate relationship haha..

O, and if i were to replace it, i'd get a 370z or e92 m3

It's amazing how many of these responses have yielded answers such as: Mustang, Camaro, Pontiac. WTF???? Dont' we all hate these cars as Z owners?

I may be biased because I'm asian, but if I were to get something to replace my Z, it'd be another Japanese car. You'd think that the majority of Z owners are totally Nissan loyalists, or at least Japanese car loyalists.

Just an observation.

My replacement would be a:

1.) 370z
2.) EVO-X
3.) STI
4.) GS 350
5.) IS

Hot asian chicks love these cars! I know because I own one . muahahaha.

I can understand the American. After all, most of us are Americans. What's not to like about a brand new Mustang selling for less than $100/hp? I don't think you can get that in a Z. And, in my personal opinion, nothing (stock) sounds better than a Cobra exhaust, except maybe an Italian. If I had the patience and the money, I'd have myself a 67 Chevelle.

I have done a lot of thinking here lately of my future plans transportation wise. I LOVE my Z. Have driven several other cars(Fast New OEM cars) and nothing gives me the semi and looks like the Z does. SO iv been thinking since im to much of a ***** to go FI and i dont have the 20k for the LS3 swap i want maybe 2002-2010 Tahoe 4WD white or black lifted with some nice 38s and then another GSXR1000. I would just hate to do that and lose my Z and be in Denial forever lol

yeah uh, im a car enthusiast. not a jdm fanboi.
i got the z because its a great true sports car for a good price. and its new.
I got a chevy truck because they have been making trucks with v8s for 70+ years while japanese co.'s have been doing it for less than 20.
and i bought a 70 camaro because it's 'featuring a high-performance LT-1 360 hp (268 kW) 380 lb·ft (520 N·m) of torque 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8.' a 70 datsun 240 has 150hp and a 70 honda has 37.
but the new camaro is not nearly as sleak as the early models. and the 350z given the correct mods is a better handling/ looking car than a new mustang or camaro. though i would not mind having them both i my garage next to my z.

The new Boss 302 Mustang you are making fun of will out run a 370Z on the track or drag strip so why are you slamming it? The bottom line is for some reason Nissan forums seem to have a dislike for domestic cars, even when those cars are excellent performers.

Yes, a Mustang is a Mustang but a 350/370Z is still just a Z as well. Both are entry level performance cars that are common & affordable. There is no reason to slam another car regardless.

In addition, I never understood why people think a production car like a Z or Mustang is rare or special. The bottom line is a 350Z/370Z is a mixture of high production parts that many Nissan cars use including the motor.
