350Z's In Barbados

I'm down in Barbados on vacation and just saw a Daytona Blue 350Z drive by this afternoon. I visited the local Nissan dealer on the island and they have a LeMans sunset auto model on the showroom floor.. It's a cross between a touring and performance model..It's right hand drive and has different front & rear license place frames as well as a speedometer in Kmh and the heater controls in Celcius.. I asked the price.. ready for this.. $98,000 US dollars and you'll have to add 15% tax!! I told him I can buy 3 for tat price back in the states.. He laughed.. I took several photo's and will post them when I get home next week.. Guess we don't realize how lucky we are.. There is a third "Z" on the island.. It's White..

Best regards from Barbados..

note to self: dont forget to put z on next boat to Barbados.

I would expect that on the Caymans but Barbados?
I guess there's more money there than I thought!

It's usually 100% import tax onto the islands. Plus it's right hand dirve, which means UR pricing. Price you pay for US cars on the islands. Barbados is flat (like spilled cofee), so the roads should be ideal. -m

Steve,
How was your trip? Did you make it to any of the neighboring islands, St. Lucia or Martinique? Some of my favorite places. -m

Where in barbados are you staying? My father is from there. You should try and see if you can catch a Rally or a local Cricket match. Have fun.

However I am wondering if the car is 98k dollars their money. It would make more sense since our money is worth double there, making the car worth about 49k USD?

Hi Daimon, We are in St.Lawrence Gap on the south coast in Christ Church.. The price in Barbados dollars is $199,000 which is $98,000 US dollars + 15% VAT.. That's a lot of money.. They just received the 3 cars in the past 45 days and 2 are sold.. For MacGuru.. The roads are not the best here.. I'd be afraid to drive my "Z" here.. Didn't get a chance to visit any other islands on this trip.. Just a week in the sun..

Steve (k2we) Portable in St.Lawrence Gap Barbados..

wow! Thats insane. I remembering my uncle telling me that he ordered his Toyota Aristo (sp?) online and get shipped directly from Japan to Barbados. If the 350z were older I bet you would be able to find some neat parts for it from japan. I found some great 240sx (silvia) parts last year when I stoped down. Anyway have a good trip.
