Silver Z's?
I may be an idiot but I don't know the difference between the Chrome Silver and Liquid Silver colors. Whats up with the change? Anyone care to enlighten me??
Thanks.:) |
Well.........the Chrome Silver one is kind of a silver color but the Liquid Aluminum one, on the other hand, is kind of a silver color.
|
If I remember correctly, the Liquid Silver is an optional color for '04 that replaces Brickyard. It's a little bit lighter and costs extra I think.
|
Also, Liquid Aluminum (not "Liquid Silver") is only available on the Touring model. An extra $1100 option.
|
yea if you look closely. Th LA is the exact same color as the stock rims ( when its clean ). The CS is darker, nice contast between the rims and body.
|
the liquid aluminum is lighter and a uniform color. if you look closely at the chrome silver you can see glittery speckles. other than that, they look the same. there is no way i would pay the extra $1,100. if you dont get close to the car or have them side by side to compare the two, you would have a hard time telling them apart.
they should have gone with a yellow instead. 3 silvers is dumb already. |
For 03 models, Chrome Silver and Silverstone were offered. The Silverstone is a little lighter. I am unfamiliar with the new liquid aluminum color available on the 04's.

I posted my review over at 350zfrenzy.com. So check it out.
I talked the sales manager into letting me drive my Z back into the showroom to do a side by side comparison. My chrome silver is the car on the left and the LA is on the right. Chrome silver has a black pigment in the paint. Hopefully I gained some value back. :D http://www.aogroup.net/client/images/350z/CSvsLA1.jpg http://www.aogroup.net/client/images/350z/CSvsLA2.jpg http://www.aogroup.net/client/images/350z/CSvsLA3.jpg http://www.aogroup.net/client/images/350z/CSvsLA4.jpg http://www.aogroup.net/client/images/350z/CSvsLA5.jpg |
A very good comparison. Thanks a bunch. I would have never known the difference otherwise.
But if I saw one one the street I don't know if I could definately say it was one or the other. |
There are some pics in the liquid aluminum gallery.

Liquid Aluminum has like sparkle flecks in the paint. It's kind of nifty but probably impossible to match if you ever need to repaint a section of the car.

There are too many silvers! Silver is so BORING.
|
hmm... I can't differentiate the two. I agree with you guys in that Nissan should not have come up with a 2nd silver to replace Brickyard. (Silverstone, despite the name, isn't so silver.) I was expecting them to introduce YELLOW this year but guess I was wrong.

Actually, there are a LOT of Silver cars out there and I *really* like the look of silver but there's just too many silver cars out there so I went with black. Oy Yoy Yoy! Keeping this thing clean is a serious challenge.

Haha, I didnt read it before you edited. Maybe you said what I wanted to.
"Blue is boring." Actually I love the blue, I just wanted to quote that guy and say that. |
