What's in a VIN??

I've got a 2005, with leather seats, Bose, cruise control, electric seat adjustments, heated seats, HID's, dimming rear view, and automatic. I do not have a third switch in the center console.

According to my VIN number the dealer says it's a "base" model.

So, do I have the VLSD and TCS??

How do I verify, or does it matter what the dealer says?

I got the info from the 100 FAQ post.

thanks

John

You know, my 2006 is listed as a "Touring" on the auto check, when it's actually a base. :dunno:

A "VIN" is your vehicle identification number AkA (Something you SHOULD of checked before buying your vehicle to avoid buying base models, salvage titles or other f*cked up **** people lie about..)

However , your dealer is most-likely bullsh*tting you since base models do NOT come with leather seats, bose, etc, hence the name "base model".

Lastly, to determine if you have a base model check down on your dash beside the fuel button for a button called "VDC" .. that stands for Vicious Drift Commencer (or Vehicle Dynamic Control) and that would determine if you have traction control or naaatt.

No base car ever came with an auto trans, and that's a conversion no one would ever waste their time/$ doing.

The VIN has nothing on trim level, options, etc.

I did a Carfax report on the car...noted single owner, recorded all services at the dealer...since it came with the "upgrades" I ignored the VIN reference to "base", but had the local dealer run the VIN for me and he showed me the printout.

Thanks...

I do have a TCS button, but no VDC.

You have a Touring model.

You do have a touring model, but they generally come with VDC (instead of just TCS)
