Turned 77 today.
Update from the oldest 350Z owner on the forum. The car continues to be a joy to drive. Perks me up every time I get into it. Still getting compliments from people who admire the car. Had a 370Z owner tell me he liked the looks of the car more than his.
85,500 miles on my 06. One repair this year. Had to replace air pressure sensor in driver's side front tire. Made the mistake of going to a stealership and got soaked $330 for the job. Aside from that the car has been running perfectly. Still making once a week trip to that small school district 45 miles north of Tucson to do counseling with elementary and high school age kids. Longest trip this year was 120 mile trip to Scottsdale to view the cars ready for the Barrett Jackson auction in January. November before last a friend and I drove the Z to LA to see the LA Auto Show. Last November we decided to avoid the traffic by flying into LA at 9 am and coming back to Tucson at 6 pm the same day. Taking into account the cost of gas, hotels, wear and tear on the car, etc., that we avoided the air flight wasn't that expensive. Will probably do it again the coming November. My health is still good. One sad event. My sister and I had to place our 102 year old mother in a nursing home because her dementia had progressed to the point where she could needed round the clock care. Still consider buying the Z one of the best things I've done, second to marrying my lovely 80 year old wife 47 years ago and then having 2 daughters. |
Happy birthday

A 77-yo who's still drives a 350Z which still is going strong. All the right reasons to celebrate.
Happy 77th !! |
Happy birthday!
I never go to the dealer for anything other then oil changes. They charge $117 per hour here and then tax. I have a guy that charges $20 an hour plus tip. Glad you're enjoying the Z!! |
Happy Birthday and glad to hear you're still enjoying your Z. On your sad event, I think you're so fortunate to still have your mother with you. After many years of helping care for my Mom, she passed away two years ago. Glad I had the time with her I did.

Happy birthday Trains. By the way, good catch in remembering to say that marrying your lovely wife trumps buying the Z.

Happy birthday to you!
What a wonderful post. I’m impressed that you take time to do counseling for young people. That is so important and often neglected in schools. You have 11 years on me, and I’ve had my Z for 11 years now. I hope I’m going strong like you 11 years from now… in my Z. --Spike |
Happy Birthday Trains. Wish you many happy motoring years to come!
you got any pics with you and the car? -Enjoy in good health! |
Happy birthday!
With all the advancements in healthcare and science...you might be coming up on a midlife crisis here soon! |
Happy Birthday!!
|
Happy Birthday from probably the second oldest Z owner here. I'll be 71 this November.
|
Happy BDay!!!
Glad to hear you're doing well and the Z is keeping up with you. |
Happy birthday!

 You are 71 years old! …You have 6 years on me.
I follow your posts, and you always seem wise… so it’s no surprise you are senior/experienced status. --Spike

Happy Birthday Trains! Most of on here can only aspire to driving a Z, or a cool sports car well into our 70's! We have a few Zedders over here in NZ, that are approaching your age, great guys they are too.
It's fantastic that you're still able to get in and out of the Z, being as low slung as they are. Keep on Zedding. |
Happy birthday and many more. :icon21: keep enjoying your z

Do you drive stick or auto?
My dad has multiple sclerosis and just turned 66. He was able to drive stick until he became wheel chair bound. It's always good when people enjoy sports cars later in life. I'm now driving his civic si and plan to keep it as nice as he kept it. |
awesome man! Happy Birthday! 102 year old mom - that is great!
and 330 for tire pressure sensor.. ouch.. i'd just lived with it, haha |
