Just read through this entire thread, and it makes me feel sad. Partially because I am one of the newcomers who does not know anything about cars, and partially because I continue to respect the 350Z. It has always been my dream car. I bought mine only 2.5 years ago. I researched them since before 2003 when they were first announced. I considered 10 different 350Z's before I found one in excellent condition that was respected and without modifications. The others were far cheaper and often winter driven or poorly modded.

I looked years back at trips to San Francisco and saw my car pictures of Ferraris and Maseratis; Mixed in with them were 350Z's. I had wrote I liked them more than Porsches. I have plugged in old gaming systems and found the last car I had driven in many games was a 350Z.

And now I have that car, and it's cool that I obtained something I have a high affinity towards. However, it was only possible because the price dropped. I hate that my timing is that with the newborn crowd that has ruined the reputation of the car.

I respect all of you die-hard veterans.

Xonatron,

Do not be disheartened by this thread. New comers are still welcomed here. The main theme of this thread is simply, attempt to research your question(s) on your own before posting. Don't expect your hand to be held or to have everything given to you with little to no effort made by yourself.

A lot of people have pointed out that the Forum's search engine is flawed. It actually works great once you know how to use it. But if you are in a hurry, just use Google, 9 times out of 10 it will link you to a relevant post made on these very same forums.

Like you I dreamed of owning a 350Z when it first came out in 2003. I saw the commercial at the movies and fell in love right away. In 2010 I made that dream a reality, by then I was older and more mature. I clearly understood the financial aspects of owning and maintaining a 350Z before my purchase. Honestly this has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. Other than basic maintenance and a few TPMS sensors needing to be replaced, my 350Z has been great. Since I have added some mods I have run into a few other minor issues, but this is to be expected when you deviate from OEM specs.

Enjoy your Z and treat it right!
-Icer

Nothing wrong with new owners or young owners if they're mature enough to post intelligently and bring something beneficial to the table. It's all about how you handle yourself and help the community. Respect the car and its history, treat like minded enthusiasts the same way you'd like to be treated, and you'd be amazed at how nice this place is compared to other car communities.

Just don't go into the useless thread....

Went to a car meet yesterday and saw much fail. Lots of "new" Z owners that either didn't care about the appearance of their car or they just don't get it. Saw some nice Z's too, but there were some that obviously owned by noobs.

Hopefully these kids buy them wreck them so there are fewer around, then the real enthusiasts will shine.

Speaking of declining expectations...

Wait for it.... wait for it...

Looks like the owner sold this car a couple weeks ago...

Such a beautiful car...

Then I was trolling craigslist as per my normal Sunday schedule... and see this:

I can't...

the owner should be publicly shamed for it. Just sad. Hope the old owner had all the money and paperwork sorted out and the new owner doesnt try to flip it back.
