If not your Z, what would you be driving?

In '04 there wasn't much to choose from, I paid $34k for my Touring model, the other cars I was looking at were an '04 Roush 440A Mustang, '04 SVT Cobra Mustang, '04 WRX STi, I wasn't particularly fond of the M3 or C5 at the time and a 911 was too expensive, same as a second-gen Viper.
I honestly liked the z33 the most.

I'd be working on dropping an LS1 in a 240z. That was my dream before I purchased my Z and then it all changed.. well, not really. I'm still going to do that some day.

E46 M3. Laguna Seca blue anyone? One of my favorite cars of all time. Happily, I could afford to replace my Z with one... but keeping it on the road would lead me to ruin. And aftermarket parts prices, ouch!

I really love the STI as well. My wife drives a 2014 STI as her daily driver and at NASA events. Really fun car.

I had one of those... you dodged a massive bullet. I owned the car for six years, Within that six years, the Motor was replaced 4 times (not rebuilt, replaced), Trans twice, Diff once. That car was an absolute catastrophe, and it was heartbreaking because I wanted to love it. I've never in my life had a car that was as bad as the M45. I spent so much time tracking down the color and options I wanted, and what I got was a pile of red scrap metal with an Infiniti badge on it. I reached out to Infiniti numerous times looking for any form of help and all they ever told me was that my VIN number didn't exist to which I assured them that the car did indeed exist, but all I ever got was a "sorry can't help you." I'd venture that it spent almost a year total at the dealer. It was always properly maintained, and never abused. Eventually the 4th motor started to smoke, I'd had enough so I dumped it at a Carmax for whatever I could get for it.

I was in the market for a Porsche Cayman but the vehicle I was driving died on me. The Z was an "oh ****" car and I was pleasantly surprised. If it weren't for the Z I'd be driving a Cayman.
