Why do people insist on having DRL??? Did depo and sti lens swap, no regrets! Amazingly bright at night without looking like a jerk. Lights up the whole street without blinding people.
Oem or depo+sti lens swap is the only way to go. And looks much cleaner than the spec D and all other aftermarket lights. Works better too.

Note: For 03-05 Models, Please be sure to GROUND your ballast. The original stock ballasts must be mounted securely & correctly to avoid moisture build up inside the lens. Condensation usually occurs due to the leak to the lights, NOT because of the seal being broken.
We strongly recommend that you change the new OEM seal gaskets on your headlights when replacing with the new DEPO headlights. Your Stock seal gaskets, over time, most likely have worn out and is no longer able to sufficiently prevent moisture/condensation as it is designed to. The OEM seal gasket is rather inexpensive (around $7.00 a piece) and is crucial to ensuring that our new DEPO brand headlights will avoid water leak and condensation issues. Condensation is not covered under manufacturer warranty.
Condition: 100% Brand New
Brand: DEPO
Quantity: 2 Piece Set (Left + Right)
Note: Please reuse stock bulbs if bulbs are not included (Signal Lights, etc)
==================
You can buy Depo bare-shells like these and changeover your existing infrastructure or complete '06+ lamps, complete with ballast, ignitor, harness, bulbs built in, for plug n' play. (With a snip of a wire optional for '03-05s)

Yes - they look just like the OEM lights. Many body shops will use them as a less-expensive replacement part, even if only one side of the car was damaged, and most wouldn't know the difference. They make a "chrome" version, but the black ones are what you typically see for sale to the aftermarket, and the black are less $. Depo makes replacement lights for all sorts of cars, and they're not one of the cheap Chinese junk manufacturers, as their lights need to meet OEM standards for insurance companies to use them in repairs.

If you have base model with hologen as i did, youll need the depo lights ($350) the ballasts for both sides ($100 for both) and an o ring gasket for both side ($2 bucks maybe? Got mine free eith ballast) and good hid bulbs ($100).
All in all youre looking at over $500 for the switch over. Yes its expensive, BUT it is TOTALLY worth it. My car came with the cheap spec D lights. I hardly ever drove it at night (maybe 2x or 3 time) so it wasnt a big deal to me. But once i switched over to the depo with sti lense swap, i fell in LOVE. Much brighter, more even light distribution, and just an over all upgrade in looks and light output.
if you absolutely HAVE TO HAVE drl, you can always mod te depo or get an after market side marker or just get 2 small black light bar and hide it in the grill. For me, ill just use the lights themself as DRL.

I have the 03 HID thankfully so the swap should be straightforward. As for the DRL it's my understanding that with the DEPO the 03-05 turn signal lights will stay on all the time (unless a wire is cut) so I was planning on getting a switchback bulb for that? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Sorry OP for kind of derailing your thread.

Why didn't I see this before...the vin specs say that I have Xenon high intensity discharge headlights. Huh. Now the seller says I need these instead.
