Default Good Mechanic in North San Diego

I'm looking for a good mechanic in North County San Diego that will install customer supplied parts.

Not sure what happened recently but it seems like everyone in my area decided if they couldn't make money on the parts they didn't want the business at all.

Mossy Nissan in Escondido is the only outfit that will use customer supplied parts and they want $700 labor only to install front/rear struts shocks and springs.

Recommendations?

They're way out in East County, I'll call them up and get a quote though. If $700 for labor only is in the ball park then it is what it is...just seems awfully high to replace shocks/struts/springs. That doesn't even include alignment.

If I saw this earlier in the week I could have knocked it outside in Fallbrook, but I'm heading back to Vegas tomorrow.

The problem shops have with putting on parts you bring them is usually because of the warrantee they offer their customers... Lots of reputable shops offer a 24 month nationwide warranty so the customer doesn't have to replace the same junk twice.. If they put your part in they cant offer the warrantee and thus messed up their contract with whatever association they belong to.

They also need to make money on the parts they install, along with hourly labor rates... That is how a business stays in business...

Your best bet is watching some YouTube videos, buying some tools and putting aftermarket parts in yourself... Or stick to OEM and find a trustworthy shop.

I definitely get it but if I get a smoking deal on a part that they also get direct or from a distributor then I don't understand the runaround. Every time I bring in parts I just sign a waiver saying they'll warranty negligent work.
