350z in Vegas heat

Well. I moved to Las Vegas and my car after running for a little seems to run like **** due to the heat here (100+) . It'll also occasionally overheat a bit (but nothing too major) Any opinions on what needs to be added to run better here?

thanks to anyone.

04 350z
kinetix v+ plenum
kinetix HFC
jwt popcharger (maybe the culprit??)
z1motorsports tune

other minor things that shouldn't matter

Put the stock air box back.

don't have it anymore.. gonna wait for a 06 airbox to come up and buy a drop in filter I guess. Hopefully the popcharger is my issue.

Pop charger does make it slightly sluggish on a hot day until the inlet temp comes back down to normal. Even my minivan feels sluggish in the summer here, 115 degree day and the air off the blacktop is 160ish. You lose about 3 ho for every 10 degrees added.

Koyo Rad, Nismo T-stat and Samco hoses, along with fresh 70/30 coolant (don't need 50/50 in Vegas) helped mine out.

I'll add to the "Put your stock airbox on"

I had the JWT Popcharger on my 350Z when I was living in Palm Desert CA (Extremely similar temps, if not the same). Sitting in traffic on a hot day and the car was terribly sluggish. I put the stock airbox on after I found one and last time I was there the heat didn't phase the car as bad.

As for the overheating part, it may relate back to maintenance. When was the coolant flushed last? Any leaks? etc. maybe your thermostat is starting to stick?

new thermostat which seems to be working fine, not sure on a full coolant flush I'll give that a shot. I'm not dying over a few ponies though so I'll also just wait for an 06 air box to come up near me for that issue.
