turn Signals blinking fast...Normal??
just failed MD vehicle inspection because turn signals that blink too fast...even though they all work... don't understand. anyone have answers/DIY repair for fast turn signals?

The turn signals shouldn't hyper blink unless the current draw is too low.
What year is your car?
What bulbs are you using?
Do you have aftermarket headlights or tail lights?

I'm going to guess you have aftermarket lights or you're wiring is scrwwed up somewhere.
Or one of you're lights is getting weak and about to go out. My 00 mustang did this. Hyper blinked for a few weeks before the bulb shut off and burn out making my signals not work at all. Ford claimed it was a "feature" to help drivers know their lights were out.

Either a wiring mishap or one of your bulbs is out and you missed it. It usually clicks louder/faster on the side that's out to indicate that it's blown. At least that's what happened in mine.

Lot of input here but I have the same issue on my g35 coupe though. Mine only happened after I was doing some stuff with my headlights....lol but I don't have any aftermarket stuff they all illuminate just my right side hyper blinks. Another potential thing could be a bad ground in the headlight or by there at least. Is there any other things that are acting up as well or just the hyper blink?

Isn't a fast blink an indication that there is a electrical issue? Meaning that the car is trying to tell you something is messed up.
I know that if you install LED turn signal bulbs you also have to install a resistor on each side to compensate for the voltage change.

Thank you Everyone; I have an '06 silver convertible with a blue twill top. The only thing I have done with the lights is replace the headlight/turn signal housings with aftermarket ones after someone had backed into the front bumper and damaged the driver headlight. I will take a look at the turn signal bulbs and make sure they are not LED. The weird thing is when I press the Hazard button the turn signals flash normally...I was told that the turn signals are controlled by the ECM and not a small round silver fuse/tube found in older cars. if this is true would and OBD2 reader find the issue? I am having no other issues except the fast blink. All of the turn signals are working and I know that a fast blink normally indicates one is out. I can't remember if I had this issue prior to the new aftermarket headlights.. Thanks again. David

Ok there is an added bonus to the story now.
I bought my Z salvaged front end damage. When I had no head lights because they were smashed I had a similar issue. Aside from my lights obviously didn't work. Bu they still blinked rapidly.
1) check your bulbs and make sure they are not only installed correctly. Are the proper ones. I'd also look into getting actual OEM lights not aftermarket. Too many junk aftermarket lights out there.
2) check your housing because they may look fine, but may be trash and more damaged than you thought. I assume so being any accident where you need to replace your bulbs is a pretty major one.
I don't think this is a wiring issue but more of a wrong/cheap bulb or totaled head lights.

Hello, My 07 350 convertible is doing the exact same thing yours was doing (blinking fast) after installing after market lights. Standard turn signal bulbs not LEDs. The headlights do have daytime running lights in them. Was you able to find the fix? . Thanks, Harry
