Default Convertible top wont finish closing

Hello, I have seen so many threads on convertible top repair, but not one on my issue.

When i close my top it gets 95% over the way and stops. when the rear part of the top latches into the deck lid, it does not fully retract leaving about 1.5 inches of space between to the top and the rear deck.

Sometimes after I drive it awhile, if i hit close, it will close. after it closes i can open and close it repeatedly then. But if i try the next day, it will stop just short of fully closed. I have had the 5th bow motor rebuilt, this was not the problem.

please see photos.

Is it just missing the locking latch? Or not even getting that far?

I'm currently having the same problem. The video of the red Z was not a fix for me, my spring was intact. The latch works when I trigger it by hand but for some reason the hoop just won't go in there. Let me know if you found any other fixes PLEASE and thank you. Shamwow74@gmail.com
