Question Resonator delete or Muffler Delete?

Hey all,
What would you recommend, Resonator delete, Muffler delete or just get an aftermarket exhaust?

I'd go aftermarket. It's noticeably lighter than stock as an added bonus. Finish it up with an aftermarket Y-pipe, test pipes and shorty headers if you can!

I did the resonator delete, it was terrible. The rasp was shameful and it droned. Its was slightly louder but sounded terrible.Follow week resonator was back in.Get a aftermarket exhaust....

I would recomend the True Dual Borla catback exhaust. I installed mine the day i bought my Z (about 4 days ago) i am 100% satisfied and can't go wrong with borla's reputation and quality. I believe its also about 11 lbs lighter than stock exhaust.

Default Up to you

A lot of guys with their chins high will claim an HKS or tomei is the only way to go. But its really up to your preference. For me I went with a resonator and muffle delete. 2.5" pipe from the front y-pipe, all the way back then a custom u-pipe for dual tips. Stock cats and stock front y pipe. Results- the engine felt like it breathed a bit better, its loud but not obnoxious if you watch your throttle, and when you do decide to get on it she sohnds like an F1 or mini GTR. I wanted loud and nasty. So I got it. Oh and I get hardly any rasp and no drone. Do research, get what YOU want and unless your asking for facts, dont let other's opinions decide for you.

muffler or resonator delete word with a system that has sort off a multi muffler/resonator. such case is the C63 amg from 208 or so. people usually do a second cat delete and the stock system with that mode sounds great. will that's not the case with the 350z. most of the sound dampening is in the rear muffler so any chance of you gaining anything from sound or power in sort of insignificant. as for the aftermarket replacement. power is dictated by design so HKS or the ebay equivalent should yield near identical numbers. However, quality is dictated by make. now here where the HKS or any high end "JDM" product shine. fitment and quality hardware etc... As for my opinion... DUDE!!! what ever you want... your local muffler shop provided the resonator/s and the design can build you a nice system for probably less than off shelf and fits miles better.
