Exo-350z
So, I've been enchanted by the EXO skeleton car craze. Not sure how big the craze is, but since RoadKill did their
You Tuber, Cleetus Mcfarland has done a vette car too. I even bought and built a Exo-Busa. It's a exo framed car with a Hayabusa motor. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....ba0e4fc7c9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....e3647a7be6.jpg Well, I'm now selling the Exo-Busa and moving on to a new garage project. I came across a company Krowrx. They take cars strip them down, add a cage and boom Exo car. I was thinking about doing this to my 350z. Take a look at their gallery. Looks like it would be fun. |
I've actually been looking to do this myself and searching to see if anyone has done it to a 350z. These cars are cheap enough in the $3k range on Craigslist that it wont brake the bank to make an exo car. I think these are a cool idea.

I haven't found a 350 done yet either.
|
The tricky part would be trying to make it road legal still. Or tricky in PA at least.
I think it would be a lot easier starting off with a convertible. I personally would start that way and leave the windscreen in place. |
I'm not a convertible fan so I didn't even think about those but I agree, they would be better to start off with.
After a small search for what legal: Horn, windshield, head/tail lights, exhaust, steering, red reflectors in the rear, license plate, bumper bar. emissions depending where you are. Doesn't seem to be much besides what the car already has to be road legal. |
Looks like fun! I'd be curious if anyone would insure it. (Not liability but acc death or major bodily injury ). This car already has one of the highest mortality rates going. 02.
|
I would just insure it as a 350z.
And I'm sure the mortality rate is high because the prices are dropping and the younger, inexperienced drivers are buying them up. |
|
I’ve seen a few of them on the road, would be really cool/fun
|
Did you sell you Exo-Busa already?

That's actually the exact reason I bought my salvaged Z. But everyone convinced me to keep it a Zrather than a kit car since it was in such nice condition aside from the crash damage. That and my roommate who was the guy who was going to weld and build my chassis was dragging his feet and then ended up moving out. |
