Damn, I'm planning on paying $15k this weekend for an 07 with 105k km, so 65-70k miles. I'm super happy with the price, now you guys are talking about $9k lol. Everything is inflated in Canada . At least it has Brembo's and all the goodies.

Depending on the submodel, you are not overpaying.

If I sell my 08 with 70k miles, I am going to ask about $14k.

I think it's the top trim ,has nav ,Brembos, aftermarket double din, newer roof and leather. I didn't think I'd find a clean low mileage HR for what I wanted to spend ,especially not work Brembos .Really wanted them too since the brakes on my old s2000 were do good .Haven't seen it in person yet ,but lots of pictures and details from the owner .Really excited to pick it up .

Sorry for the thread back op.

So you got it at a repo auction. That’s cool and all. But stop jumping into peoples threads telling them they are over paying because you found one at $2,500.

I’ve seen you post that in a few peoples what should I pay threads. Then you leave them off looking and expecting all mint condition HR Z’s are worth $2,500...

It’s fine you wanna toot your horn about your great find but again stop giving people false hopes when car searching. It’s not helping anyone and probably making people walk away from fair priced Z’s.

#1. Not once in any of my posts did i say ANYONE was overpaying for ANYTHING. I know the deal i got on mine was not common.
#2. It's smartass people like u that give forums a bad image and run people away from what COULD be an informative and helpful site.
#3. I was simply trying to say to the op to keep their eyes open and good deals can be found.
#4. UR PROBABLY JUST PISSED U OVERPAYED FOR YOURS.

As if ur post was helpful in ANY way, shape, fashion, or form.

Op, just keep looking and you will find a good deal. They're out there. Just gotta look hard and jump on them when they pop up

And to the haters out there, u know who u are. The only thing you're running is your mouth. Be helpful, give contructive advice, or go back to what u originally got your computer for to begin with. Watching **** and getting sticky smudges on your screen all while giving urself eye strains trying to find it

Even in that post you say your deal was uncommon. But then immediately following you tell him deals are out there like in some way it is achievable. I wouldn’t be grilling you so hard if you didn’t go into full detail of your price miles and condition again almost insisting these cars can be found with the disclaimer “if you look for them”.

FYI cowboy, I got my Z for exactly $2,500 too, under difference circumstances. Accept mine is MT and has around 100k less miles than yours. SINCE you wanna go there.

So pissed at your car vs mine? No not even close. You just don’t see me telling everyone about my $2,500 Z when it clearly doesn’t help OP AT ALL, accept show him how cheap my car was and either spend a lifetime looking to get one that cheap. Or feel like a fool when he pays 10x as much for any Z he finds aka paying normal price for his.

Once again talking out ur a_s. I found one. Your sorry as_ found one. I know where 3 are right now within 100 miles of me that are roughly half of what your telling this man he should expect to pay. Every site has **** starters. Glad to know who it is on this one.
And just so some people cant say I'm full of ****

while its true if you really look hard and are willing to deal with repairs you can get used cars for super cheap. however even with these examples you provided. First of all convertibles and autos are not the same as a MT coupe. Further more most of these looks to be pretty trashed. even the 06 MT with 100k miles at $6k now that is closer but still not as stock and pristine as one can look for. Not everyone is looking for the same thing.

I'm not saying it will be a perfect example. Comparing 10k to 5k-ish some repairs would be expected. I mean this IS a forum with how to's. I just dont see the point in telling someone they're not out there for less than 8k when they clearly are

I'm just the type that cant stand to see people get taken advantage of. That's the kind of sh-t that makes me wanna go Coner McGregor on somebody. Not even the in the ring McGregor. The in the parking garage version.
The only people who would say don't bother looking for a better deal than that are either ones who are too lazy to look, or the ones doing the price gouging in the first place.
Sorry to the op. Just can't sit back and let people encourage you to bend over and like it

some people would rather pay a bit more, and get a car that's been maintained and taken care of. All up to the buyer. But if of courgood deals are out there, to say otherwise would be silly .

Agreed, there's nothing wrong with paying a fair market price for a well maintained car. Trying to lowball someone and refusing to budge from an unreasonable offer is equivalent to asking too much. Private sellers =/= dealership =/= auctions.

That said, without at least a 3 year warranty, $9k from a dealer for a non touring 2007 350z with 144k miles is doing OP no favors. Might as well buy from a private seller at that point and save a few grand.

Agreed, I'm a sales person by profession ,always have been. So I always like to get a deal ,but even I done usually totally lowball someone on a car. If it's way over priced or out of my budget, I usually just won't contact them. In fact the 07 touring ZR I bought this weekend was priced $4k above my max so I didn't even reach out to him. Ironically he responded to my wanted ad and was willing to take what my max was so worked out well.

To the op, that price does seem high. If it was in Canada, I'd say it makes sense but our prices are higher. I also offer private sale when buying older vehicles. You can actually talk to and gauge the owner to get a feel of how the car was treated, and likely get service records for it. Never get that kind of info from a dealer.
