Is $9k too much for an 07 350z with 144k miles?
I'm looking to trade in my current car or try to sell it private for the 350z but that price seems a little too high. Its at a dealer and they seem like they won't even go any lower, would yall take this "deal" or keep searching else where ?I really want the 07 since its an hr but since it's an automatic is it fast as the manual ?

EDIT: Although I did just look on CL and there's some crazy prices out there for high mileage cars.... wow, didn't know that there indeed is one born every minute. :icon22: Just because it's an HR..... ehhhhhh. I've had both and while the HR is slightly faster and is newer, not worth that money. I'd consider the exact car you want and a clean, WELL MAINTAINED DE car is just as good as a questionably serviced HR. |
Miles are too high. Although this is interesting, I wonder how much I can get for mine. Mine is a year newer and less than half the miles, not to mention virtually mint condition for its age.

Yes. $9k is closer to a 30k mile 07...
Only time any Z is worth more than $10k is when it’s new or turbo/FI... Some guys say no Z is worth more than $10k but when the quality kits run for $10k alone to support a FI build, I think it’s safe to say you can pay for the turbo kit, and get the car free and it be worth the price... But yes that’s way over priced. |
i sold my nicely modded hr with just over half those miles for 14k
|
It's probably worth like 7k and they're trying to make a 2k profit.. And it's an automatic with 144k.. I'd walk. Keep searching.

There are CL ads all over the place for one owner Z's with 30-50K miles - Many of which haven't been modded at all.
I paid $7k for my 9/10 03 Touring 6MT with 52k miles. Eastern Washington/ Western Idaho all its life (no salt). The thing looks like new underneath which makes working on it a pleasure. Imo your priorities should be: - Not modded - Low miles - Price |
Keep looking until you find one you really feel good about. I paid $9500 for my 05 Enthusiast auto trans in 2015. 3,000 original miles. I got an estimate from CarMax before purchasing and they offered $10K. I am certain it would have ended up on the lot for $15k or more.
Forgot to add that if you are not planning on tracking your car then have a shift kit install and get ready for a fun ride. |
I bought a 03 track edition with 113k for 6400 from a private. amazing paint and had the basic mods. I wouldn't take that "deal."

Do you want an auto or manual?
If you want a 6 speed, I would never settle for an auto because of a "deal" Are the autos worth more, less, or the same as manuals? Curious with the new market as it seems like more people are buying autos and the manual is becoming a dying breed. |

Just not what *I* want for future projects. (I can't even imagine what a PITA my SL would be with a manual if it were ever available!) BTW, this isn't just Z cars either. The better condition cars all seem to have slush boxes and what I infer from this is that they tend to be "less abused" (GENERALLY, not a rule) and more of them tend to be one owner cars whose owners are just moving on from a GT type car to a sedan/SUV (or in case of dealers, trade-ins). But as SQuaLZ said, NEVER SETTLE. Price is one thing.... satisfaction down the road is a higher priority!! |

I bought mine in great condition and super clean with 120k for 7500 |
location is of course important... 144k miles and automatic though? I would suck it up and save up 1-2k and get something that has less miles.

I am willing to bet 90% of people between the age of 18-24 don't know how to change a flat tire. Quick Google search and found in the US, 3% of 2016 car sales were manual, down from 7% in 2012 and 25% in 1992. It's a dying breed. |

FYI, i bought my 2007 350z Enthusiast 6MT with 142k for $5,500. Hasn't needed a single thing, older guy used it to commute to work on NJ Turnpike. 1 owner car.
