Question What do you think?

I grabbed my local dealer's one and only allocated Z back on Feb 1st, and he has asked me if I would be willing to let it sit on the showroom floor the first Saturday after it comes in. He's been good to work with, and I'm paying MSRP for it.

What should I make him do for the honor of 8 hours of my car sitting in his showroom?

If he won't rename the dealership after you, then......

you should get some of the accessories that you didn't order, such as floor mats, rear mat, kick plates. If you are already getting all those, then he should provide them for free.

Basically, I think that it is worth a couple hundred bucks in product.

I agree. Or ask for a significant discount ( percentage) on a Nissmo upgrade of you're choice. This would not cost the dealership hard cash and would certainly save you mone

Keep in mind that if he lets the car sit on the floor, all sorts of people will be touching it, greasing up the windows, climbing in and out with dog poo on their shoes, etc.

I'd only consider it if the dealer gave me some sort of discount on the car, future parts, or maintanence, and then only if he agreed to keep the doors locked.

Traffic through a new Z would be very high.

I would let him do it, if he kept it locked and didn't let anyone sit in it, and possibly had it roped off.

If he gives you a good deal, and lock the car so people won't climb in and out

I agree. Only if he keeps it locked and puts a sign on both windows saying DO NOT TOUCH. Then ask for cost on all future parts. Then go to the Nissan "store" in the dealership and pick out a nice product and tell him you like it...hint hint.

I wouldn't trust it man. Acura tried to do the same exact thing with one of the brand new NSXs this weekend, the whole do not touch or sit in rule. But that just didn't work. I was there checking out the TL Type S. Both me and my friend sat in the driver's seat of the car and played with the controls. Unless they actually rope it off, I wouldn't go for it.

Default You'd have to stay with the car

Make sure no one does anything you dont want them to, such as sit in it. Make the dealer throw in lunch for you and a friend.

Heck....from your visits to this forum, you will know as much (if not more than) the dealer's salespeople.

I say you wear a suit, and help the dealer sell cars. Be a commissioned salesperson for a day, taking a small cut of all Z's sold that day.
