350z overheating problem? Coolant?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 2003 350z (180,000km) Touring Model about a month ago and recently I noticed the temp gauage was fluctuating. I stopped the car immediately, but couldn't see any obvious fault. A week later I noticed the engine light came on with bad coolant smell. I checked the radiator and there were no coolant. Obviously there is a leak somewhere but I checked the hoses and other areas and couldn't find any obvious leak. There were coolant in the expansion tank though.
I opened the engine oil cap and found some coolant under the oil full cap, but nothing like tan-yellow sludge milky stuff. Just small pile of green coolant.
I can also hear coolant hissing sound somewhere in the engine bay.
I have to top up coolant everytime I drive. It's empty every day.
What am I experiencing now? Blown head gasket?
Thanks,
David

Welcome- most likely, this sounds like a blown head gasket. Did you have this Z inspected before you purchased it? If not, start by checking for codes and have a compression check done.
