Need help with bolt size
Can anyone give me the specs to the rear lower shock bolt? I need to find a drill bit in the same size, and cannot find the specs. Thanks!

The bolt is an M12 x 1.25 x 70mm (plus the tapered bit, so a custom 75mm I guess?).
What are you trying to do? |
I’ll bet that it seized in the bushing from wha5 he is asking. |

Redrilled the lower shock forks to get the rear lower. I am fully stripped out in the rear, and on my coilover setup, my rake is too much even when fully bottomed out in the rear.
And no, I cannot run a softer spring in the rear :) |
Ahh, that makes sense. Bummer! I've used heli-coils to repair threads before, but never on anything that large..
Edit: I misunderstood the intent of the re-drilling. Are you also planning to weld a nut onto the fork in the new spot? If not.. there's a reason Nissan didn't want the both the bolt and nut to rotate relative to the shock body. Sounds like it'd be a lot safer (though more expensive) to order a new spring with the same rate and a shorter free length. Good luck OP. |
Helper spring, that is how it is properly done |

Bet this didn't end well.

I just wanted to get the rear lower to reduce my rake. We corner balanced the car this week and got the cross weights 50/50, rear is still a bit lighter but not to much. Rerouting battery to the rear and will be running to some aero to help get some weight over the rear. |

These are true coilovers from Buddy Club. The fork never came with a nut welded onto it.
Bilstein does, Nismo does, BC does, RS-R does, Koni does not, Ohlins does not, Apexi does not, KW does not. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....9356deed60.jpg |
I guess your rear shock is much different than mine, I don't have any room for anything like that.
