Thanks Mic,
I'm in western NC/Asheville working through Saturday. The storm has slowed to 6 mph so I'll be gone before it gets here. I'll check on Heel today. Stay safe guys!

Ya, if you can get out, do it!! Problem with slow moving storms, the wreak even more damage because they're hangin' there as most know. My BIL was already planning to come home from N. Carolina for an event. Scheduled for today. He came home Tuesday.

We had a close call at our condo in Maui last month.... those fires you may have read about stopped about a block away from it. But there was a lot of clean-up that had to happen. We also just lucked out with the current Tropical Storm that blew threw Lahaina town and Maui. Ehhhhh. Don't F with Mother Nature.

Thanks Mic and everyone else. My car won't be used and is on jackstands in my garage elevated as high as possible. I have to work on Post here all weekend unfortunately.

And if anyone doesn't have full coverage on their vehicle's insurance specifically with flooding, you are asking for trouble. Homeowners too.

Stay safe everyone!

Since Florence took a turn west, we’re on the outer edge now but it is moving at a snail’s pace. One tree down so far. The wind is an issue for us this far inland as opposed to flooding. The power has flickered a couple times but no total loss yet. The Z is parked in the garage (safe hopefully),

I hope everyone stays safe!

No need anymore. Didn't get much of anything where I live in SC, mostly high winds and regular to heavy rain. I feel bad for the folks up in NC they got hit hard...

Flooded out cars will be on sale at our local dinky dealerships soon. Can hardly wait to see the water flowing from the doors when I load them into the truck...

Does this mean more or less people are going to take it seriously?

Ouch!!

But that's a good'un with a tinge of truth. Kinda like the question asked of my posts here. Think maybe I'll stop.... after this irrelevant one.

My comment was somewhat motivated by this article indicating gender bias and its effect on people's preparedness for hurricanes. https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/01/healt...rnd/index.html
