Car Driveway Gutter Bridge

Ok folks, I had to raise my car some this past week to try to stop scrapeing my cf lip on the gutter as I enter and exit... same going forwards or backwards. I don’t want to lift it any higher because it will not look right. My question is has anyone tried the Amazon gutter bridge so the wheels will be elevated over the gutter and not dip in as you pull in the driveway.

Check it it out here;

Well I've never used that product, but it seems overpriced for what it is. A 2X4 piece of wood, could accomplish the same thing, without needing to worry about it being stolen.

My driveway entrance is much more of a drop off than those in the pictures, and I've never had a real problem by entering at an angle, instead of straight on. And this was on a very 'slammed' car, where the exhaust would hit the ground before the bumper.

Also, if you look at the 5th picture on your link, I would be more worried about the lip catching the 'bridge' and causing damage, instead of just scraping the bottom. Up to you though.

That's your solution. Enter and exit at an angle .

Yeah I have tried at an angle as well as forward and backward... the problem is the driveway has a gutter, and then it goes upwards just enough where its too much for a lowered car... My C6 (when I had it) would scrape too... When I brought the Z home it was so low I couldn't even get into the driveway, had to be creative... I lifted the front 2 inches and the rear 1 inch, now its only hitting on the left or right side. I may try the 2x4 idea but I live in a snooty neighborhood... They will freak out. I dont want to spend 300 bucks on a rubber thing... but I also dont want to lift the car anymore...Im still fishing for ideas... out of about 10 times I was able to get in without scraping like 3 times... its possible but must be some perfect spot and angle that is not a likely expectation... plus I will not be the only one driving the z.

Why not just raise the Z to stock height? Then you shouldn't have a problem.

myrddin 10-31-2018 06:10 AM

True... I do like it as is, but I could lift it more... as is I think its close to stock right now...
Front 25.5
Rear 26.75

Fill in gutter, problem solved.

myrddin 10-31-2018 06:28 AM

haha, dont think I haven't been considering that... run some PVC in the gutter and cover it all up....

Does your snooty neighborhood have an hoa? If so, it will depend on what they will let you do

why did you part ways with the c6? I recently traded in my c6z for a 2016 ats-v. Wanted newer technology and more comfortable ride

myrddin 10-31-2018 08:44 AM

Yes on HOA :( they drive me nuts. The C6 was sold off to buy other things... I go in and out of cars like people trade cards... I like to drive them for a while work on them and sell or trade for something else. I do miss the pull of the C6 over the Z... but next to the Z ive only had as much fun in the twistys with a 911...
