2003 DE Bolt Ons

Hey Z forum,

i currently own a 2003 DE and as much as the 287 crank stock horsepower is nice, I知 trying to aim for around 310-315 crank but only through bolt ons and tune cause I知 not really looking to drop couple grand on a big boost kit. As for as research goes, I heard the motor dyne art pipes, plenum spacer are two good bolt ons for the car (which I will buy and install this summer) but along with that, what else do you think might bring me to my 310-315 crank HP goal?

3.5" intake, catback exhaust of your choice and a tune. You should be good to go.

I don't mean to pop your bubble, but with every single bolt-on available AND an Uprev tune you will then get into 280s HP, not stock. It is likely you can gain +/- 30HP from 5/16 plenum spacer, Hi-Flow cats, Tomei single exhaust and a tune. Z1 Motorsports has great service and prices. GL!

maybe 280dyno hp is equivilent to 315 crank ... 35hp loss = 12% inefficiency?

the tune is the reason why you'll make serious gains ...

OP, you池e likely going to pay close to a couple grand or more to get you close to your crank hp goal with full bolt ons and a quality tune.

Rough conversion of 310 crank ~ 260 wheel which is doable, but not at your price point. Like everyone said, the tune is key, and you'll need at a minimum hfc/test pipes and the intake mods. Nothing you do will yield appreciable gains without the tune which will probably exceed 1000 by itself.

All of the comments above are good and valid opinions on this subject. The point is, Nissan did a good job of maximizing output of the VQ35DE originally, and bolt-on parts will not get the OP any significant increases. Even race tuned VQ engines, using 100 octane race fuel ($10/gallon), have difficulty finding significant gains. Ask me how I know...

From my understanding single exits make the most power. I highly recommend isr performance. If you want real gains, hit up admin tuning for an e-tune and 3.5in intake :bowrofl:

Hey-O Temecula. Used to live in Murrieta.

Cat back exhaust = 0 hp/tq unless the engine is putting out much much more power. They sound and look nice and that's it.

The 2nd quote today from the same 8 year old ditty Sasha Anis put together
http://www.superstreetonline.com/how...vq-street-cam/

" It's a shame then that this fantastic engine produces such mediocre power from the factory, and one of the large contributors to the lack of power are the tiny cams, specifically to the non-revup VQ."

Nissan did not do a good job of maximizing hp/tq. Not even close.

Rather than ask such a simple question, research it for yourself InfinityZ. In the mean time, the best mod for u is to hit that **** with a 250 wet shot of NAAAAS! No tune required. :fyeah:
