Default Voltage Issue!

so I just recently changed my 2003 stock alternator with a duralast gold altenator and when i roll my windows down or have my 400watt amp going in the car i get a voltage drop from 14 volts to 12.6-13 volts then it goes back up to 14volts. It doesnt happen all the time but it’s starting to do it more. I checked all grounds from starter, alternator, and any visible grounds i can see and everything seems fine. I did notice one of the kicker gauged wires I have to going to my positive terminal on my battery has a couple frayed wire pieces. I went to check my battery with a DC volt meter and the readings are 12.7 volts when off and unplugged. So I even bought a quick battery just to try it out and even with the new battery I got a voltage drop! Is it that frayed Kicker gauged cable that could be causing my voltage drop or does anyone have any idea of what it could be? I hate electrical issues for this reason. I don’t like other people working on my car because it will cost me money and I would rather know the work is getting done properly and with the most care. Any suggestions will help ALSO my car has a safety recall for a fuel hose so I doubt that could be part of it, just had to throw that out there

My best guess, you have a corroded ground somewhere. Since you live up in Ontario, I wouldn't be surprised if your Z has rust issues. Check all the major ground connections in your engine bay, pay special attention to the engine block ground connection since many components like your starter complete the DC circuit through the engine block and chassis. I don't recall if the alternator on the Z completes the circuit through the bock or directly to the chassis.
Good Luck!
