Door lock stuck
tried searching, i know its a common problem but all of the fixes that ive been encountering has to do with being able to open the door which i cant do. Is there a different way to open the door without having to rip the door card to access the locking mech? Any help wiuld be helpful before i have to actually bring it in to a dealer and get raped lol. |
Sooo you cant open the door from the inside or the outside door handle? You should be able to take it apart from the inside enough to get to the lock and the popper without destroying anything.
|
The door card cant come off unless the door is completely open, all the clips are at the outside edges of the door panel and i think the area where the actuator is if its even that thats faulty is behind the door handle which would require the panel to be completely off of cut through. Oh and yes the door wont ipen from the inside or out. |
Go on the inside and remove the inside door pull. You should be able to access the 2 wire pieces behind that and unlock the door by pushing in on the metal piece. Then pull on the other one and open the door.

It's a pretty easy and quick fix you more than likely will have to replace the whole latch this problem has happened to more of us than you probably care to know even myself. The latch will cost you between 75.00 to 80.00 just do a google search you can purchase a good Oem one without going to the dealer will definitely save you some money, there is two bolts that hold it on. This is for sure a job you can do yourself maybe a hour to a hour 1/2 of your time, just go to youtube and search replacing 350Z handle(latch) and it will literally walk you through the complete process, good luck you can PM me if you need more information!!

Have you tried spraying WD40 between the locking mechanism, after pulling the handle a multitude of times the inner parts eventually break, really never experienced not being able to open the door at all inside or out!!

May as well give up trying to help, people, OP hasn't been on since the day original question asked. Why do people bother asking if they're not willing to close the loop? That's rhetorical since it happens on ALL forums. I totally get that forums aren't life and people don't spend their lives on them but then why ask and waste everyone else's time?

The person whose time has been wasted is the OP. The few concrete suggestions proposed require that the door be open to remove the desired items. The remaining posts are the usual garbage that many people post to sound cute or boost their post count.
I had that issue at one time but at least I could reach through the open window and open it from the outside. Looked pretty amusing to my friends. Hahaha. Come to think of it, I had to resort to the open-the-window-with-the-remote trick to open from the inside when the outside handle failed as well. :icon17: |
How to get your door open!!!
I just made a video on how to solve this exact problem you are having. I looked and could not find a video so I made one real quick. I hope this saves people the frustration I had.

Once you finally get it open replace the latch!! But then again why are we wasting our time on this post?
|
Thats because he read my step by step instructions and got the door opened and solved the problem...
Then had the common courtesy to never bother us again. |
