Opinions

Just wondering. I found a 2004 350z with 122k miles for 8k. Is that too much for it? The body is in good condition and it runs fine. Obviously I would get a pre purchase inspection but I just wanted some opinions

What's too much in one state is too little in another. Without seeing this particular Z, I'd say the best options are to check with kbb.com and Edmunds. Once you get an independent mechanical assessment, you should have a valid opinion.

Dealer or private seller? Too much in my personal opinion...especially for year and mileage.

$3,500 to $4,800 is the realistic trade in value a dealer will put on this car in a real world trade in situation.

Looks like dealer is try to make too much profit on this unit in my opinion based limited info here...

I'm in the Midwest, so things might be different out there in Cali...

Some things to help you bargain it down are these potential power negotiating statements you can use:

" Very few lenders are interested in financing a 14/15 year old car " So if you got cash or your own financing, it speaks volumes and puts you in position of power.

" Nobody is buying new 370Zs today, the 350Z is even more of an unwanted dinosaur in today's market " This lets the dealer know his unit aint all that desirable even tho u like it.

" 350Z Enthusiasts who know these cars and their present real world values say $8,000 is way out of whack " It's true, we know our stuff.

Let us know how things turn out...

35,000 350Z a year were produced in the early years of '03 - '04 - so there are still plenty of nice lower milage examples out there priced less than $8,000 if you look and are willing to travel a bit to get one.

Good Luck !

It is crazy how the 350z holds its value. I am in Minnesota, and I see 2003’s and 2004’s sell for $8k. The car you are looking at has more miles than the the-best-selling 350z’s. I think the 350z you are looking at should go for around $7K.
