Default Start of a build thread "EL CHAPO"

I purchased a 2005 base model with an ATI procharger... full list of what it came with below:

ati procharger
full stillen exhaust with ceramic headers
Brand new haltech platinum(isnt being used at purchase)
nismo forged wheels
Seibon carbon hood
ati piggy back fuel system(will be eliminated soon)
was tuned with revup

I already have a full fuel system ready to go in with rails, 450 wally and gtr injectors. As soon as those go in htech will be used for tuning.

Since ive bought the car ive been fixing previous owners gremlins. Most current one is a popped out front main due to bad pcv and vaccuum plumbing.

Did you ever get your compression tested? My fear for you is that youre getting blow-by and you may have to get the engine apart and replace rings.

Nice day so back at it... compression test(cold) had all cylinders in the 160s...

started putting things back together
While i was working i found coils cracked and glued back together and plugs were 2 steps colder than stock so put them 1 step colder(only 7psi so no need for 2) and replaced coils with ngks

I vented drivers valve cover and used catch can for the pcv with a 2nd check valve to make sure boost doest push into can from the manifold.

Nice work on that Pikes Peak white Z, and even better that it's in my neck of the woods. But I wish the OP would come up with a better nickname for his car. El Chapo is a ruthless, brutal Mexican gangster who ran a soulless criminal organization and will soon spend the rest of his cursed life at the SuperMax prison here in Colorado .

CORRECT!

it is unfortunate a "gangster" like Joaquin ruined the name shorty for all hispanics....

maybe Hitler would be better for its pure white appearance?

before anyone flips out on me, you have to get to know me to understand my sarcastic sense of humor.

love the car, but when your kid calls it el chapo it kind of sticks(even when they have no idea who el chapo is). But i wont ever be able to put its "name" anywhere visible without getting pulled over anywhere i go.

Sorry, even when your kid calls in "El Chapo", it's the same as calling it "Al Capone" or some other gangster name. Don't let it stick- explain to your kid why such a name is repugnant, let them know why you love the car and let them pick another nickname.

I live in Aurora. You?

Take a look at the SW forum and you'll find there were (are?) quite a few more Colorado Z33 owners on here. We used to have meets and even track days organized for Z33 owners.

Thatd be fun... all I have now is my honda/dsm buddies from my other 2 cars and going to nationwide meets.. no one has a Z. Ive found many of my friends are made out of state through forums and would be nice to have local guys.

Had to add overflow with my catch can... came without a "vent" so i drilled, tapped and ran a hose to drain if expansion occurs.

everything is packed in neatly now
