Aftermarket (cheapo) Window motors
 

So i officially just bought my 3rd 350z and was wondering if anyone has ever put aftermarket window motors instead of OEM? Because i can get 2 motors for $60 or get one OEM motor for like $300. Its obvious which option i want to go with but are the cheapo motors gonna last long enough for it to even be worth it? And from what ive seen out of the OEM motors, they aint much better than an aftermarket cheapos. This seems to be an issue on about 50% of the older 350s. If anyone has had any luck out of aftermarket motors then let me know! Any feedback is appreciated!

Got one off of Ebay and it works fine, just make sure to reset it if you have any weirdness.

FWIW I've put in 2 ps and 1 ds motors in my '06, all aftermarket in 65K miles. DIY. There's no point in buying OEM, but then there's no silver-bullet either. It's simply a bad design where the brushes are too small and wear too quickly.
My suggestion would be to make sure you get the "lifetime warranty" from O'Reilly, Autozone or online. When it craps out and it will, make sure you have the original receipt and get a "free" replacement. gl!

I didn't have to reset either and I know I didn't install them back at the same window height

I ordered mine off Amazon last fall but haven't had a chance to install yet as the car was already in storage when I got it. Bringing it out this weekend so I may get it done then. How long did it take you guys to do your first time? I'm only doing the passenger side. The drivers side seems okay for now, but may go out this summer, who knows.

It basically falls into 3 steps-
Removing inside panel/handle,
Removing metal window panel,
R/R the motor. Reverse the process and reset.

I do not recommend changing the regulator rails, and do recommend taping the glass in the up position. 30-60 is reasonable for 1st time.
