Have now owned my 2006 350z touring manual convertible for 2 years. i have put about 5,000 miles on it, and It now has 24,xxx miles on it. After 2 years here is a list of the repairs I have had to make.

End of list.

Congrats!

I am in a similar boat.... 5000th one of the line in late 02 (03 Touring Manual, no roadsters for the first release, but i don't live in convertible country). I have put 33k miles on it so far in about 17 years, and all I have replaced is the 2 main belts and a couple sets of tires (one was free from Nissan due to the improperly setup alignment and subsequest cupping on the frotn tires issue). I upgraded to the Track Rays rims and Brembo brakes and pads, but no repair list for me either, just basic wear and tear items. I drove it for the first time today in 5 months (its garaged/stored during winter months)... still a very fun car to drive. I take good care of it, and it still looks new.

Lol i've owned my 07 Enthusiast for about 2.5 years now.

Repair List:
Driver outter door handle
Fixed the trunk hatch locking mechanism
CSC blew but fixed under recall (thank God)
Starter blew as a result of me starting it in gear when CSC blew to drive it so i wasn't stranded in the middle of a busy downtown area

Lost/Damaged List:
Plastic Undertray
Center console paint looks progressively worse

That undertray keeps alot of road grime and dust out of your engine compartment, it may be worth replacing.

My console from the factory was composed of a couple two-tone dyed plastic molded pieces, and were not painted. Were the 07s different, or did you paint yours? If soemone painted your OEM plastic console pieces, I can see how that would chip or wear off.

Z1 and Concept Z sell the aluminum ones for about $100+. Definitely worth upgrading from the OEM plastic ones.

I never really saw adding the metal undertray vs OEM as worthwhile. What are the functional differences?

The car gets driven hard and not daily driven (Have a 2018 STI for DD duties) so I'm not super concerned, I'm at my buddy's shop all the time so the car is maintained. I just got my Z1 Motorsports undertray in today though, will be using that with the KBD Nismo V2 bumper and canards once that gets in the body shop.

Well yeah its dyed or whatever you want to call it. The original finish is horrible on 06+ 350z models its a known issue for everyone on the forum. I'm going to get them hydrodipped likely in the future. I already wrapped the window switch panels on both doors in piano black.

Speaking of repairs, what's the lifespan of alternators on these cars? I ask because my 03 Maxima alternator died at about 130k which I felt was pretty early - but then realized is common. My 03 Z has 160k on the original.

A search on this forum renders minimal alternator discussion which leads me to believe the Z has a more robust alternator than other Nissans?

My repairs have been reasonable for age/miles: window motor, door handles, AC compressor, radiator, ignition coils. Also shocks and multiple bushings, but those are really more of wear items.

Better quality material, lasts longer than the cheap plastic OEM one and it comes with that litttle easy access section for the oil changes. I mean to each his own, my front bumper was damaged years ago and when I replaced everything I got rid of the old undershroud as well.
