Default Found something ridiculous on my project Z....

So I was doing a video on how to replace the window motor on my Z because the window wouldn't roll down and found out the previous owner (whoever he/she was) was an engineer and it was held up by 2x4s instead... Lol so it ended up being a video on replacing the regulator and motor. Enjoy my misfortunes with my car build haha

Wow! That was one hell of a hack job done to that window assembly. Btw, there should have been a 3rd bolt holding your door card in. It's hiding behind a small plastic piece, which is snapped into place just in front of the door handle hinge (inside of vehicle). I didn't see it in the video so maybe you took care of it off camera or it was simply missing thanks to the previous owner's modifications. Also, you may have gotten lucky, but typically you need to do a window position relearn/reset procedure. Otherwise the window won't crack open and close properly when opening and closing the door. I assume you used an aftermarket window motor based on the pricing information, perhaps these don't work the same as the OEMs, but I remember this being a "must do" step after any work was done to the window motor/regulator.

Glad to see you sorting out this Z and saving it from an early junk yard fate.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have to look and see, I would imagine that 3rd bolt is missing because I didn't see it on there or take it off that i know of lol. I did have to do the re-learn. I should have done a video on that part but every time the window would get to the top it would roll back down automatically but the re-learn fixed that right up and everything functions as it should now.

Yeah it's definitely been nice to bring it back to life. It's already way better than when I started

Thanks man! These little things make a huge difference in the feel of the car. Already feels like it starting to come back together and I have some big stuff coming up once all the little things are sorted back out
