Default My 05 350z stops accelerating in the freeway

My 350z stops accelerating in the freeway, the only way it will accelerate again is if I put it in neutral for a bit then back into gear. I’m thinking it’s an exhaust leak because I do hear a hissing noise but I’m not sure if that’s what’s causing the car to stop accelerating

Is your CEL or Slip light on?

Yes, my slip light turns only when it happens then goes away

Your tires aren't worn, are they? Is your car equipped with VDC? It sounds like VDC is kicking in. Is it under hard acceleration, or just cruising?

No they’re not worn but I did get new control arms & need my car aligned because I got into an accident but not sure with the vdc & just cruising

I would run a scan just to ensure you are not throwing any DTC's that aren't triggering your CEL. I have had the same happen and it ended up being camshaft sensors. I was cruising at the time also when I lost power.

Get your car aligned and double check to ensure everything is within specs with respect to your CA's. If something is off, you car will misread that and trigger your VDC, throwing your slip light on and cutting power to compensate.

So I got it aligned & scanned it again & there’s a shortage, it can be a camshaft or my catalytic converter because there is a whole
