Was coming home late this weekend, as I'm heading home. Car goes into a limp mode. I can't rev in any gear. Lose all throttle control, can only rev in neutral, I put it in first and can maybe go 10km/h. I limp it home. Turn it off and try cranking. Cranks once and is done. Figured maybe my alternator took a ****. Next morning she starts up no problem. No check engine light either. Turned off and tried cranking again, same thing, cranked once and was done.

Odds on favorite: crank position sensor.
Other possibilities: cam sensors

Don't count on CEL, pull codes.

Replaced both cam sensors 2 months ago, just judging by reading other forums i was banking on crank sensors

I would be so sure, especially if you used non oem sensors
