Default Site seems slower to me

When I switch back to the general forum after viewing a thread, it takes much longer than the old site. Also it seems slower because the new site completly loads all the pictures before showing you anything at all. The old site would show you what people had written, and then slowly show you the attached images. Having to wait for all of the images to load first makes the site seem quite a bit slower even though the total time to view the whole thread might be less. I like the look quite a bit, just wanted to comment that I am not seeing any speed advantage to this new server.

Complainers.
That remark is uncalled for. The guy was merely stating an observation. Such sharing of information can only help make the site better.

BTW, I also thought the page loaded slower than before.

Actually, server performance is much faster now.
Slow load may be caused by the graphic files and table structure. I have compromised some table structure for the design, but it must not be that big difference. You gonna get used to it.

I think it is quicker than before, not so much in going from thread to thread but the loading of a thread seems quicker.

YES...I think that I will choose the boring one, cuz Im falling asleep at the wheel. On the other hand, the design is so industrial that I rate the design over and above many sites and certainly above other car sites...so I dunno

I would prefer the "boring site" option if it made a noticeable difference in performance. Or if the graphics would load after the page like it used to. I'm on T1 and its still really slow.

I love this site and check it many times throughout the day. It is slower and I am on a T-1 line.

Default I have to agree....

...with the speed comments above. I'm on a DSL line and this site loads and navigates post to post and page to page MUCH slower than before. In fact I just came here from 3 other message board on other topics I normally hit and it's much slower than them as well. The difference is not small....

I really like the look--very high-tech, very modern. I can sacrifice a few more seconds to see threads.

I take it back, as the day has progressed it has definetly slowed down, I have DSL so I hate to see what 56K guys are going through.

I am on DSL and it is slower than what it used to be. Just my observation.
