Nismo Exhaust
if you have a lift. Everything just goes back like the stock one came off. Fits perfect! Of course, I had the use of a lift so no crawling around on the ground. It was, however, the easiest of all my own installs.
Jack stands will work fine - anything to give you room to move underneath. Be sure and use a little WD-40 or something to help loosen the stock bolts and everything should go smooth. Also try to have a helper with you to hold up the exhaust while you remove & install - especially the muffler. And use a little lube (anti-sieze, etc.) on the mounting rods that go into the rubber mounting grommets so they'll slide in easier. You'll see what I mean....

I only put the rear up on jack stands and the install went smooth and easy - - wd40 on the hanger donuts and remove the ground stap like Jeff mentioned, I started at the cats and moved back from there - you'll figure it out - easy DIY install.

You Guys are the best......Thanks............
It just arrived today and looks to be okay....the box was in good condition. Each piece was kinda wrapped or near some foam. I was once told that the box would be very heavy since it was shipped with a large piece of wood in the box. However, the box was very light (no wood), maybe that is why shipping was only $23 from Maine to NC.
Anyway, I'm going to install it on Saturday.
I also didn't know that it has some heavy duty flex pipe built into the front exhaust.
Thanks Again

Hi, I have begun to remove the old exhaust system and all is going well. I do however have a question. I assume that the heat shields covering the original exhaust (Front part with the flex pipe) does not get transferred to the new Nismo? If it does, I can see how. This is the part that connects to the catalytic converters.
Thanks
Thanks
Did the install. It was pretty easy. My main question was do you reuse the heat shields from the muffler but I think that I figured that out since there was no place to mount it on the new Nismo muffler.
So the only problem seems to be that the drivers side rear pipe is a tad bit lower then the passengers side pipe. It appears that the muffler is not perfectly horrizonal. Any advice would be appreciated. I was thinking that I could loosen all the bolts and try to straighnen it but I didn't know if I would have to replace all those nuts and the gaskets again.
Thanks in advance.

311 roadster- I just swapped my Injen exhaust with the Nismo today- I had the same problem when I initially hung the muffler (was off a bit). Just loosen the muffler from the mid pipe and adjust it- make sure both the top hangers (donuts) are snug and adjust it until it sits correctly- then tighten the mid pipe to the muffler again.
Nismo DIY...........
The Nismo is installed and all seems to be going well. It was very easy to do and yes! I used jack stands. For the other DIYers please see below??
1) I got most of the bolts torqued but because I didn't have the vehicle up high enough, I could not get all of them. I'll have to get that done when I get it on a lift.
2) The entire process was fairly easy except it was a real bear to get those rubber mounts off when I removed the old muffler.
Questions: For those who have done this? It it okay to not have those heat shields behind the flex pipe on the Nismo system. I noticed that the old exhaust system had some heat shiled mounted to them there as well as on the rear muffler.
Thanks
All pieces (Gaskets and nuts) were included.
One last question?? Anyone going to Road Atlanta for the races May 1st? If you have enough people with cars you get to do two laps around the coarse on Sunday.
