Dealer "can't locate" DB Z

Got a call today...

the dealership apparently cant find a blue enthusiast six speed, and suggested a LMS instead

i said no...im thinking they just wanna get rid of what they have on their lot

ares Mar 26, 2004 05:16 PM

whats an LMS?

try www.nissanusa.com they have a car locater.

BRONXWARRIOR Mar 26, 2004 05:24 PM

AWESOME discontinue blue so only the select few can have them.

LMS is lemans

Bertg Mar 26, 2004 05:33 PM

DB is harder to find on the lot. Why don't you check with another dealer? If no one has one, then order one. That's what I did. Good Luck!

fuzion Mar 26, 2004 05:44 PM

run a dealer check in your area. check as many miles away as youd like to travel. you should be able to find one...

i got the same story. he held back from picking up the car attempting to sell me a black one on the lot that was auto as well. didnt bite, wanted the blue too bad. got it the next 2 weeks or something.

good luck

i just got mine recently, go to nissanworld in springfield NJ, carl monto helped me great guy and got a great deal.. i have a 2004 enthus. 6spd.. got it pretty recently... im sure u can even get maybe a better deal then me since i would refer u and stuff.. they called me up we got a 2004 6spd enthus come down to the lot... i did that and same day i drove it home, and it sure was fun :)

You should do a locate on the Nissan website yourself.
I found my Silverstone/burnt orange, performance this way.
I actually told the dealership were it was. When they did a search on their data base, it showed no such car, but when they phoned the dealer were I said it was sure enough it was there.
They thought that was really strange.

When I do a locate, I have to search every single dealership and see if they have the one I want...Is there a way to search only for DB Z's? I looked in 30 different dealerships and none have it.

Thanks

spitfirez Mar 26, 2004 09:10 PM

I don't think you can search on color only. You either have to order one or be patient and keep looking. Check about every week or so to see if the dealerships received new Zs.

THERE IS A DB HERE IN STL AT BOMMARITO NISSAN Enth 6 spd 63116

meeno Mar 28, 2004 07:41 PM

Should I have him keep trying or just have him order one?

I really dont wanna wait till mid summer to enjoy the car :(

spitfirez Mar 28, 2004 07:45 PM

I say order though it's probably going to be 2-3 months before you get it.

Boiler Mar 28, 2004 09:14 PM

You have more interest in checking than he does, so check it twice a week.

There is a Touring at a dealers about 2 miles from me, but that is in CO.

Most of the Dealers seem to stock Touring around here, Base seems the next popular, or perhaps they just stick.

If you want a specific combination, ordering may be the only way.

Aftrmidnyt Apr 11, 2004 11:11 AM

The dealer had to bring in a D.B. Roadster from Quebec for me.
I live in Alberta. He said there were only 2 avail in this color and both were in eastern Canada. That just made me want it MORE!!
Cheers and Good Luck on your quest Meeno.
Stick to your guns and get the car/color YOU want.
Don't let them sway you

The Brickyard Rat Apr 11, 2004 11:23 AM

If you really want your color in your time frame, you are gonna have to do the work. I looked at virtually every dealer in Cali's inventory on the Nissan site before I found my Brick w/o spoiler at a dealer 300 miles south of me. Even then I had to get Performance instead of Enthusiast (though in retrospect, I'm glad I ended up with the Performance.

Get busy......................

:D

Melissa Apr 11, 2004 11:24 AM

i have 3 db zs on my lot....give me a few and ill let you know what models

Melissa Apr 11, 2004 11:26 AM

ok i have 2 db performance models...im in virginia and can get you 300 over invoice if your interested

fivespeed5 Apr 11, 2004 11:52 AM

same situation, had to go 300 miles to get my blue enth manual!

They say blue is the least popular color, and most enth models they order are automatics since it's the lowest Z that has the auto tranny.

Psyc0 Apr 11, 2004 11:54 AM

It took me like 3 months to find a Daytona Blue Base... There is only one other DB that i have seen in my area for the most part...
