Default Yes - information is almost same in Japan

As posted in my "new info on the new FairladyZ"... last week..

I am sitting here with a copy of the official but pirated version of Nissan brochure in Japanese:

HP: 280 (no surprise here in Japan... JMAN says 287)

Torque: N.m(kgm)/rpm: 262 (37.0)/4800 (translation needed here for lbs-ft)

Japan weight specs...

Vehicle weight: for 6 speed (add 22 lbs for auto):

Base model: 3153 lbs
Touring: 3197 lbs (close since packaging might
be a little different)
Track (without the Ray’s): 3175 lbs(close since the Japan
packaging differs from the US)

JMANZ info is as follows:

Weight is listed at 3188 lbs

There is a 53/47 weight distribution (states the same in the Japan catalog)

The compression ratio is 10.3:1 (states the same in the Japan catalog)

The bore X stroke is 95.5mm X 81.4 (states the same in the Japan catalog)

Additional Japan information:

6 speed gear ratios
1….3.794
2….2.324
3….1.624
4….1.271
5….1.000
6….0.794

Drag Cd: 0.30 (0.29 with front/rear spoilers)

Tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE40 (same type as used on the Skyline GT-R 34, but probably not Z rated ... note-- there was a lot of flak why Nissan chose this tire for the GT-R.... back in 1999 !!!)

Shift up indicator… there is a light on the tach for shift up that can be programed based on individual setting on the trip computer (one of the three small dash-mounted meters).

Trip computer includes following functions:
1/ outside temperature
2/ miles/gallon
3/ average speed
4/ driving time
5/ driving distance
6/ stop watch
7/ shift up indicator setting

Summary... I believe JMANZ info is very close to actual.... small question on 0-60 performance.

I am really questioning the 0-60time of 5.5sec. It doens't make sense that the car has that much torque can't get better than 5.5sec. Is nissan being conservative?

I will really enjoy having a shift light that I can program about 150-200 revs short of the redline. On track it is extrememly useful. In my racecars and shifter kart I actually have the shift light in my helmet!! In my MR2 Spyder I use and Autometer shift light with a pill set for 150 revs short of the fuel cut-off. I don't have the stupid huge tach, just the lamp. I would love to put a series of LED's in the wheel just like most modern racecars do. Driving at the limit takes concentration enough and hitting the rev limiter not only pisses me off but it can really upset the car in a high G situation.

shift light indicator seems nice. so you can program it to start lighting up whenever you want or does it come preprogrammed? and the stopwatch...may come in handy to time the quarter mile they should just put a g-force pro meter in there...THAT would be awesome. FairladyZ in Japan, is there any chance you could scan in that pirated brochure, or possibly tell us where to get one? thanks.

knihc2008....

The info I received 2 weeks ago... was all copy, black and white and all off the copier.. bad quality.

Today... Tue/June 11 -- in Best Car magazine... some of the same info was shown -- together with color pictures. I have sent a copy to JMAN so he can upload.

Info looks promising.

If I am not mistaken, in Image 3 that graph looks like HP/Torque curve?? Or is it just for a regular VQ engine? Or is it something else?
