Yes or No?
Went to take a look at the GTO last week black/black m6 at the local pontiac dealership sticker price is 33190 he gave me a price of $6000 and my 03 db 350z with 5000 miles on it. The sales manager calls me back on tuesday of this week and says he got some better buy bids so now the deal is brand new 04 gto for my 03 350z and $2500. So now the question is so I get the gto or stick with the 350? I love the looks of the 350 but the $2500 and my 350 for a brand new gto 6 speed sounds pretty good to. What to do What to do.

What is it with everyone's obsession with straight line fast on this board? I'd expect that from a Mustang forum...
Keep the Z. There is no way you will be able to tell yourself that you feel satisfied driving a GTO. Those things are ugly as sin, and even worse quality than most on here complain about the Z.

KEEP THE Z man. i was just reading about the GTO too. i like the looks and all and it's 350 hp is crazy. but "the 350z and s2k will kill it on curves" quoted... some magazine. it's not worth it.

I also agree with Jetpilot. What is peoples' obsession with purely straight line speed? Even though the Z can hold it's own in that category, it was not designed for the 1/4 mile, but rather the kind with turns. Keep the Z or you'll regret it. Honestly, who buys a GTO?

Sellout!!
I like the Z but I like a good deal even better. If he is going to sell you a new $33k 04 GTO for $2500 and your old 03 Z and the financing is fair, that is a bargain. He is basically giving you MSRP or even a little more for your Z and you are paying an additional $2.5k for a brand new car. You basically drove your Z for free for a year and a half. If I could get MSRP on a car I used for a year and half and get a new car that was close to or better than the one I have now for cheap, the old car is gone faster than Nicolas Cage can steal it. Heck, you can probably lease the GTO and purchase a used Z or S2K for just a little more.
Just wait for mods for the GTO start coming out. It will be a monster.

NO
I have 3 coworkers that constantly complain about how they are paying $600 almost every other week to fix whatever broke again in their pontiac... I thought it was common knowledge that Pontiac was a notorious lemon manufacturer?
BTW, what part of wisconsin are you from Oakley?

I agree with most of you guys I think the gto's styling is outdated but the fact was I've had my car for a year. But $2500 and my car for any 33000 car is a good deal I think. By the way I have a touring model with only 5000 miles. The wife and I have 2 other vehicles that we can drive besides the Z that's why the z only has 5000 miles. I'm not obsessed with straight line speed it was just an opprotunity to drive the gto and the deal is very good. If I was obsessed with speed my mother has a stage 3 roush and my dad has a 2004 z06 vette that they let me drive whenever i wish. I agree with all that the z is an all around car as in speed, handling and looks but who would'nt like a new car for so little money?
