No big deal.

Looks like about the same size compartment that 2000+ Celicas come with. I used it to keep sunglasses. Theres not much space really and in the Celica one, CDs do not fit.

I can't tell from the photos how deep it is, and obviously we don't know how much space is behind it in the dash. However, this does look like a promising spot for anyone who wants to integrate aftermarket stereo components. Certainly big enough to fit a decent size LCD screen, but depending on depth, you might also be able to use it as a stealth location for an aftermarket head unit, mp3 player, etc.

rep15,
LOL.......
Sure does look kind of useless
But the photo of it is excellent!
We all have a few LONG months to figure something out. I don't think it's deep enough for my Helda SpeedPilot. Darn.
I wonder what is behind the vertical piece.....doubt there is much depth behind, or it would already be deeper.

My old 1984 Topaz had the same type of thing - a completely useless "storage" compartment where the special radio went (the stock radio on the car was AM-only, if you can believe that!).
There must be something behind that panel that prevents a decent storage compartment, that sucks... oh well...

help
The storage department is more worthless than I thought...I don't want to change my order to add the navi (as if I could) b/c I don't want to delay it.
What can I put there...how much $$$??? Audio screen? Aftermarket navi? I know nothing about this stuff...can someone please direct me to a website?
Thanks!

Wooglin...Don't spaz. You didn't get the Navi for a reason...I'm assuming because you know where you're going. A lot of guys after purchasing it will be trying to figure out how to get it to play DVD's etc...when they get it. Guess what..you won't have to. Go to your local Car toy store/shop and see what you can get. A nice DVD player can get in there that'll propbably cost a lot less. 1-1200 installed, maybe less. Hell Circuit City or Bestbuy could probably hook you up.

thanks. Didn't think I was spazzing. Also didn't think that Circuit City and the like could legally install a DVD in the front. But, I guess I'll try those places first.
