I was completely new to imports when I got my Z. Now its a major part of my life. I hang with everyone else that has one. I am on here reading daily. I spend alot of time looking for parts to toss on my 07. Got an Xbox 360 Elite and Forza 2, love the Z's on there. Z owners are at my house every Sunday for the weekly BBQ. I am at every drift event I cant get to ( spectating ), and any import show I can.
Just a few of the UNEXPECTED changes in my life.
I love it.

I'm addicted to this website.
The only PMs I get are "hey what page r the pics on??"
Every time I see a Z or another sweet car I jump around and yell "a zeee a zeee" or "awesome, a [insert car name]"!
I know lots of random gross and terrible news stories.
I need everything under the sun for my car.
My friends hate me cause all I talk about is cars.
All my friends are into cars now too and come to me for help.

Same boat
I started reading this thread thinking it was new . Even though it is 5 years from now I can relate to a lot of the people that were waiting on their Z as I am waiting for mine to be delivered in October. I am always on this website (Although I don't post much, just read) trying to learn as much as I can about the car and enjoying the fine pictures many members submit of there Z's. I find myself trying not to talk about the car to my friends or co-workers because I have been given hints that I am obsessed about the car because I am always talking about it. My wife gives me "the look" when she walks into my office and sees that I am in the forums, but she has come to terms with it .
It's good to see that I am not the only one that has been or is on this boat. I can't wait to get the car!

I feel very consumed by my car, but it's OK I love it, its my true passion. I find my self referring to my "Z" as if its a person or something. For example, my gf says "lets go downtown to see a movie tonight!"...... And, I think to my self, "so many potholes, the "Z" won't like that."

Let's see I
1. check the boards
2. listen to my wife complain about the car payment
3. read the boards some more
4. listen to the wife complain about the car payment
5. check the boards some more
6. Tell the wife to shut the **** up. I make more than enough money and I bought what I wanted for a change.

How has the Z affected me:
Both my commute home from work and my weekend running around for errands take a little bit longer b/c I'm ALWAYS looking for a back road w/ some twisties!

Let's see...
A) I used to have money, and now I have none.
B) I used to readily save money, now I spend it on the car
C) I tripled my average gas consumption
D) I used to feel perturbed when I was not able to find a close parking spot at a given location, now I wouldn't even consider parking that close.
E) I have to fight to the death for the underground parking spot when I acquire new roommates
F) I get insanely bored in any car I'm driving that isn't a manual transmission

My car is AT and I drive my friends' cars as often as I can.

Ok, well lets begin.
I had never really thought that i could afford a Z or anything in its class when they first came out. I was in college and a brand new car was way out of my league. For some reason there was a used Z at a honda dealership in seattle that i had seen an ad about in a paper. I then decided to go and look at it. Well, i drove it and it was ALL OVER from there. The obsession had begun. I remember the car having all sorts of torque and it just accelerated in every single gear. The car felt amazing. I still couldn't throw down the $25K that they wanted (i think it was in 05 and the car was an 03). But i honestly thought about that car every single day for the next couple of years. Fast forward to a little over a couple of months ago. I have graduate college (fall of 06- university of washington), get a great job, and say "do it." So i went to the local nissan dealer, 40 minutes later, drove off in my HR enth. Now its mod city time. I already spent over $3K and all i have are tinted windows and wheels with no tires.
Oh and im on this damn site like 7 days a week.

Having a Z definitely has as an upside to things. I find myself buying any magazine with the Z on the cover (recent one was on the Aug. 07' modified magazine). Every Z I see on the road I either speed up or slow down to get a closer look at it. When I take out my Z (once in a while) I instantly feel more confident while driving the car, walking out or to the car, and the way people look at you when you're in the car. If the Z is your dream car like it is mine, enjoy it as much as you can. Who cares what everyone else says
