not too shabby aye?

Interesting how the old `68 Plymouth is faster in the quarter than an `03 Ferrari Enzo:D
Although they do say it`s not necessarily acurrate with all the contributing factors.

yiaquemini Jul 31, 2004 10:39 PM

they said that those old cars back in the days were highly underated by the factory and have shown newhere from 525-560 hp on the dyno. I think that muscle car in the fast and furious 1 was one of those crazy old cars, neone know which one it was?

I find it interesting RX7 and 300ZX tt didnt make it while supra tt and 3000GT VR4 made it. I think stock 300Z tt used to do 14s in quartermile on magazine testdrives

The FATF muscle car was a Charger.

Anyone else see it as hysterical that the S2000 does the quarter in 13.8?? LMAO, not on its best day!

btw. repost.

Some of those older muscle cars were sick. Way underrated power. I love those old cars. And yes the car in FATF was a Dodge Charger. That thing was a beast.

It was so sick you could feel the chasis twist off the line :icon17:

Thats what 1000 hp and just as much torque will feel like:D

Interesting to note also is that it was specifically the 350z TRACK that they mention, despite the fact that the Track is not the lightest car in the Z lineup.

350ZOWNZ Aug 1, 2004 11:34 AM

they also mention the TOURING

sure the track isnt hte lightest. but its wheels are about 6lbs lighter than the other ones. :) Technically the track should be the fastest 350Z...

002-M-P Aug 2, 2004 10:53 AM

Well yeah thats unreliable to say the least. Since when does the the track model have 350hp. And last time i checked the 3800 lb 3000GT VR-4 do the 1/4 mile stock in 13.4 and its twin the Stealth R/T TT does it in 13.7 that just doesn't happen.

yiaquemini Aug 2, 2004 10:58 AM

they did site the source where they got the times from, and they never said the track model had 350hp:p . The track model is indeed the fastest trim of the 350z.
These are probably not the most acurate times, but its still a pretty interesting chart. Im still miffed that 300zx tt and rx7 didnt make it.
*VR4s were very fast in a straight line, AWD cars have a huge advantage in straight line acceleration over RWD, thats a huge part of the reason why EVOs are so much faster than 350z off the line desipte 16 less hp and only a slight advantage in weight.

So I guess I should be happy my other project is a '68 Charger R/T with a 440 6-pack motor, huh? :D

When I bought it from my uncle, it was well over 500hp at the wheels. He claimed 700 at the crank, though I don't know how he got that figure.

Body was pretty nasty, tho... so I've got it stripped completely down and am just waiting to find the right kind of shops to help me rebuild it. Going to switch from the holley tunnel ram set up my uncle had to a '69 6-pack setup (3-bbls). Can't wait to get it done.

My Syclone is in there, too. I think they may be doing a bit of what they did with the S2K with that. I think it might be a rare truck to pull a 13.1 stock. Closer to 13.4-13.6 in the 1/4 if I remember correctly. The 100 mph trap is about right, though. Aerodynamics of a brick and low gearing/redline don't help the top end much ;)

Yep your right and like I said last time its not reliable, the 300ZXTT manual and last RX-7 should have been there as well. Both ran 13.** and trapped 101+ in most test and 5.0-5.** in most mag test in the 90's.
