Perf Nissan's latest toy.

Since most of you rarely visit the road race section, thought I would share this with you here. This is our 3rd race car to enter the circuit.
You can see more at: http://www.performancenissanracing.com/
Sorry but the pictures were taken before the new suspension was added so it's a bit high off the ground.

Yep, pretty sad isnt it? It's obvious that most Z owners don't know what they're missing... ;)

For those of you that aren't familiar with the Grand Am series, you're truly missing out on a great endurance series that's quite competitive.

Good luck to the 5 350Zs that will be competing in this weekends race at Mid-Ohio. Also, a bunch of Z owners are going to be going to the race at VIR on October 1-3. I highly encourage those in the Mid-Atlantic to make plans to attend this event! Details can be found here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=80630

Also, Jeff, you have PM about the TrueChoice suspension...

I only wish we competed in the Speed GT series ...

but without forced induction or bigger displacement (stock), Z's would have a hard time keeping up with the Audis, Caddies, Vettes and Vipers.

BMW did well with their M3's last year -- but dropped out after new rules allowed the heavier Audi and Caddy entries to run extra wide tires (helping the negate the weight disadvantage).

Is this Grad Am series televised on Speed -- or anywhere else. I am a road racings fanatic and watch every Speed GT and TC event as well as ALMS and Le Mans.

What wheels are those? The look pretty sick!

You are correct. Unfortunately, somebody has already entertained this notion of putting a FI Z in the GT series, but Nissan said "no!"

Usually the races are televised, but sometimes not until the next week. The Grand Am race is usually held on one day, and the Rolex race is usually held on the other weekend day. Speed usually shows the Grand Am race one week after the actual race. So Speed is showing the Grand-Am Cup on Sunday 8/15 @ noon, and I would assume they'll show the GAC race at VIR on 10/9.

I think the problem is you can only run forced induction on a Speed GT car if the car comes stock with FI. The Audis I believe are the only cars in the race that run FI (because the RS6 is turboed stock). All the other cars run big V8's or V10's -- or in the case of the Porsches -- have just sick power/weight and handling characteristics (and only one 996 has won a GT event this year -- at Infineon where lightweight cars that can handle and brake rule over big HP -- last year BMW scored 1-2-3 at Infineon).

They are CCW's. Go here. I am considering these rims for track use. Very nice design.

I talked Jeff this morning when I dropped my car off for some work at Performance Nissan in SoCal. He is on his way to Ohio with his 350Z race cars for a track event there. Wish him luck. :D
