Question Protection film?

I was wondering if I could get some advice on whether to tell my dealer to leave all the plastic covers in the interior as well as the white plastic sheets that come on the exterior when delivered. I know some of you guys that have taken delivery of your Z's have said that you peeled the sheets off yourselves...I am not sure what the plastic sheets on the outside are for and should I peel them off myself or let them do it? I know that I will not be able to get to the dealership right when it comes so I want as much protection as possible from salespeople hands and feet. I already told them to not gas it up cause I found out that the gas station they take their new cars to is 3 miles away (one-way) and the stupid new saleslady that I went through is definitely not going to drive my new Z 6 miles before I do. (And I definitely got it through their heads about staying away from the license plate bracket idea.) Well let me know what you think about the plastic sheets on the exterior and let me know what they are for. Thanks guys.

They're there to protect the paint during transport. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to let the dealer get the car ready to roll, since I trust him to do that, but I'm gonna check the paint real close for anything that doesn't look right. You will have to sign to accept the car and, when you do, you will be verifying that everything is OK.

Q - How will you know, if it's still covered up?
A - I don't think you will.

I agree, you need the car clean to inspect for damage.
