TCS Question: What's it mean when...

Last night after having my car parked for 10 minutes while I was in the store, both the TCS OFF and SLIP lights came on when I started it back up. I pressed the TCS button several times but nothing happened. I turned the car off and started it back up, but they were still there. So I just drove back home. It was raining outside, but at no point did I feel the car lose traction on the way there or back. This was the first time I've seen them both on at the same time. When I got home, I turned off the car, and on again; still there. It wasn't until I took the key out, and re-started it that they were gone. Just wondering what that would mean?

That was the nissan code of life flash program. It states that when both the TCS and SLIP light are illuminated, at some point and time in the last 20 minutes slippage occured but was not indicated before the ignition was turned off. If the key was not remove then the code is still valid even though power was techincally cut off, hence the "code of life" Take it to the dealer and advise them that you have a COL. They will most likely reset the ECU.
