It's Over!
Picked up my CS Touring at Pacific Nissan San Diego yesterday (pre-order MSRP). They also had a cancelled pre-order PPW base for +$3000. I won't bore everyone with all my impressions of the car since we've all read several. However, I do feel that the dislikes that I've read and was a liitle fearful of are for the most part way overstated.
1- The interior is fantastic - not one cheap looking thing that I can see, The "hard plastic" that many have complained about looks great in my opinion. I prefer much the interior over the Audi TT. 2- Vibration in the shifter. I would not have even noticed if I hadn't read so much on this subject. Shifting has been fairly smooth so far. I think it will improve with experience and more break in. 3- Noisy/bumpy on the road. Had a very quiet ride back from San Diego to Thousand Oaks (~180 miles). I put the road noise/bump absorption on par or better that my Acura Integra. What bumpiness is there is left is all good (ie hugs the pavement with a lot of confidence) 4- Bose stereo. I cranked it up for much of the ride and it sounded great (Bass at flat "0"). Enjoyed the music as much as sitting in my living room with my pair of Magnepans. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones without a bad amp. Once the bad ones are fixed, most should be happy unless you like the "thump" more than the musicianship. The controls are in very easy to reach areas. I think I prefer where they are to having them integrated into the steering wheel. Haven't tried the radio yet. 5- Power. I'm not sure why people are trying to think of ways to squeeze out more HP. This bad boy is going to get me into enough trouble at stock But who knows, maybe I'll feel different in a year or two, but I sure hope not. 6- Visibility - Not bad at all. I think taller people may have a little more problem seeing far down the road using the rearview mirror since the angle be more downward. 7- Rattles - None detected. That's all I can think of for now. Time to take another cruise. -Zedagive |
Aright ill try to agree with you on everything, even though my car does have problems. But if you can actually say our cars have a nicer interior than an Audi TT with a straight face, youve got to be kidding me!!!!!! The TT's quality inside is about 10X better. Just wait untill you plastic EVERYTHING doors etc... gets scuffed and scratched, like mine. Way to easy. Some leather on the doors would help too. OK ill admit, when your driving you dont think of these things, i think our interior is on the nicer looking side of interiors in cars, but quality wise, its on the lower side.

Thank you for posting your impressions. You sound like a very satisfied customer.
Your take on the quality of the Bose offers great encouragement to those of us with the sound problem. Since Nissan CAN get it right lets hope our amplifier fix will get the same results. Enjoy you Z ! |
One of the reviews on TV (Motor Trend maybe) said the stongest thing about the Z was its great interior. I have zero complaints about the interior. No scratches anywhere, had the car since August. Hope everyone will make up their own mind on this one.
