The Truth About Cars Review of 370z
The Truth About Cars' Jonny Lieberman does his review of the 370z.
Bottom line: I don’t know. I should be jumping up and down. On paper, the 370Z is a mean, corner-eating bastard. But something’s amiss. It’s too quiet inside, for one. And I really think the notorious FM platform is better suited to sedans (G) and sport-SUVs (FX) than pure sports cars. Put it like this: if it was my $30k (or so), I’d be shopping a (gulp) Mustang GT.

Already owned one Mustang GT, and wouldn't even consider another Mustang unless it was supercharged from the factory.
I love how he said the WRX is faster from 0 to 60. First of all one is AWD and the other is RWD. Second, who cares about 0 to 60?
And who would actually let someone else's review stop them from buying a 370z?

Usually, I take the reviews from The Truth About Cars with a grain of salt. They want to differentiate themselves from other car reviewers by saying they only speak the truth and that's why most cars they review get a lot of negative feedback, some are justified but most are just them being "controversial" to sell ads.
So, the truth about The Truth About Cars is that they value how many readers will talk about their articles more to generate more money from advertising rather than informing those readers of actual facts.

Ill agree somewhat on the FM platform not being the best suited to the Z's mission but it does allow Nissan to offer the Z at that 29k pricepoint since its a shared platform. A lighter aluminum chassis that enabled the Z to be around 3000lbs or under would catapult the Z past the Cayman S, Z4M or anything 60k and under. It would also catapult the price way beyond 30k starting point. I really wish it had a bespoke aluminum chassis.

I will say this much. I went from 04 350Z to 2007 Ford Mustang GT. I had the Mustang for 1 week before I realized how much I hated it. Lost my 3 grand in 1 week when I traded it in for a new 06 350Z. Let me tell you it's the best money I ever lost...
