Default How long before Nissan discontinues the Z again?

With the poor sales of the 370z and the econonomy crisis, It wont be long before we see the end of the Z again.

Sales of the iconic Z sports car totaled 1,452 units in February, a 33.0 percent increase from a year ago.

Nissan won't discontinue the z because they only make money if fx, g, and z sell. Stop production on one then the fx and g has to pick the sales slack.

Soon hopefully so it doesn't become really mainstream and lose it's gloss as a unique car

I reakon putting it to sleep for 4 years at the end of 2012 wouldn't be bad, giving the 370z 4 and a bit years of sales. Prob won't happen though

It is hard to speculate what manufactures will do on the next design cycle. Right now, the "big three" automakers are off about 50% in sales. Honda, Toyota, & Nissan are also off in sales but not quite as much. To begin with, no one knows with certainty what the economy will be doing about the time of the nest design cycle for a Z nor gas prices or technological advances etc thus at this point it would be guessing to determine what a type of a new car will meet consumers needs.

well, in america the Z32 went from 90-96, the 350z went from 03-08. so in 6 years well see the discontinuation in japan the Z production ended in 2000.

so im guessing in 2016 we will see prototypes and 2017 the new Z will be out. in japan late year. 2018 will be deliveries.
