^^ Looks sick, but almost like a Z raped a rx8 and it had a kid.

So how do you all like the new G? j/k this is the concept car off which that article above is based. Not bad though, eh?
Now this is what the Z should look like.

From a cost perspective would it be ridiculously expensive to produce the Z in direct injection form? I have a feeling if it pushed the Z above the 30K mark then Nissan wouldn't go for it.

why would it be expensive? and i would bet that by the end of the 370z, the base price will be over 30k, regardless of DI. what is it now, 25 dollars away?

You guys also should remember that the Boxster and Cayman just got direct injection. And those are N/A cars with large power increases. The Z will get this soon. Nissan wants to keep up with Porsche.

The V8 that Nissan is working on will not go into the Z or G. It's too heavy. It will only be put into the M and their SUVs as stated by a more detailed article.

More ammo for the Z/G to put a hurting on the 1/3 series. The 335 has had direct injection and twin turbos for a few years now. Nissan's 3.7 DI TT will blow the doors off of the current N54 (although who knows what BMW is working on - but they can't seem to get their high pressure fuel pump issues worked out, or ECU). Nissan is not new to the turbo game, so I'm sure they won't have these issues.

These innovations are what have lead me away from Honda (S2000) and over to Nissan. Anticipating...

NOT bang for the buck for straight line performance maybe. If you want that, buy an LS1 or something. If you're looking to use the Z for what it was made for - handling/fun/GT - the Z is ABSOLUTELY a great bang for the buck... think Cayman.

Nissan will not make such a massive change to the 370Z one year after releasing it. This won't happen until 2011 at the very least, but 2012 is more likely.

the Z will get the DI but not anytime soon. I think Infiniti will enjoy that technology first then the Z will get it, it won't be in the 2010 MY, maybe 2012 or so. That's my 2 cents. But it will be sick though when the Z does get it, just hope they don't add too much more weight.

I don't doubt DI will make its way to the Z soon but FI most certainly won't. As others have pointed out as well, cost will be a massive issue, and besides, Nissan already has a TT offering in its line-up; they will not want to close the gap between the two cars, nor should they.

You never know with Nissan. If anything the 370 will remain unchanged for 2 yrs max as it was with when the 350 came out and 2 years later they introduced the Rev-Up motor and 2 years after that we get the HR...I wouldnt be suprised if we see a DI 370 by late 2010. As others have said though, i hope they dont increase the weight too much. 340+hp and better economy???

I agree with the two year span, it will be introduced in 2011 in early 2011. That's what they did with both the Rev and HR.

I wonder what people said about the 300ZX before it was released.
