Dealership Offers to Buy My Z Back
Wow...I was here replying to a thread when the dealership where I bought my Z called me and asked if I would be interested in selling my 350Z back to them because it's in such excellent condition and has low mileage (I always take it to them for scheduled maintenance). I've never had that happen before with any car. I told them the only car I would be interested in was another Z but unfortunately the only thing they could offer right now is a 370 (which I do not like). So they said they would hope to see me in 2015 (hint...hint)!

^^Exactly. Dealerships have used this tactic on a regular basis to stir up some business. My Z33 rarely sees any dealership work, but I'm sure it would be attractive as a used car deal. Unfortunately, I like my Z and am unwilling to take a loss just to get into a new car that they need to move.

Yeah I figured as much. But it is the first time I ever experienced it. The main reason I posted was the last comment. I did not put words in their mouth when I told them I wasn't interested in the 370; so that tells me they know something about the 2015 model and thought it would be good to share.

i get postcards from Grapevine Nissan saying that they think they could save my money on my car payment by getting me into a new car.....i dont see how that is possible since i paid cash for it. thinking about messing with them, go up there test drive a car and then be like.. okay i guess yall are paying me to drive a new car because that is the only way you could save me money

That's pretty funny...about a year ago I was at the dealer and one of the sales staff tried to get me interested in a new car. I pointed to my Z and told him it was title free and low mileage. He conceded that buying a new car would be dumb at that point.

It becomes annoying after awhile. After telling them multiple times I wasnt interested, I told a dealership (woodman nissan in colo springs) I moved and they finally stopped calling me...

I haven't been called. Though Summeran Nissan Opened up literally 1 mile from my house which is convenient in the case I need an authentic part quick. I went it the dealership the day it opened because they had some contest for a car (which no-one ever wins) and I was talking to one of the reps, cool guy.He was asking if I was in the market for a car and I told him I owned a Z already and only really like the GTR. Told me if I wanted to he could arrange for a GTR test drive (which it seems they normally never do). I did not get my hopes up since its prob just BS.

Typical stealership tactics. I always give a fake email and phone number whenever I go into a dealership.

I may do that in the future...but this dealership knows me (Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Spring). They have never pushed me beyond a first approach which I appreciate. I cannot say the same for Darcars. I used to own an old Nissan truck and years ago I went there to look at their lineup. The guy I spoke with hounded me for weeks even though I told him at the outset I was not there to buy but just doing research and repeated it on three follow-up calls. Some people are just robots I think.

Same here
As my dealership gives $24.99 oil changes, my 08 that I bought new is there when it's oil change time as I just don't have the time to do it.
I get these offers now every few months as they know my car is in excellent shape and I keep it that way. The price that they keep offering me is continually dropping but I think the last letter was around 18K (more or less). The car currently has 32k on it...I see very few if any older models on their lot. There is always a 370 or two there...
